The sun had risen just over the horizon. Its warm golden rays glimmered over the vast snowy meadows. The rays danced off the tiny crystals, and the white plain field dazzled with scattered water gems.

However, the delicate and pristine snow crystals were crushed by the hooves of galloping army horses. Their imprints, left on the virgin snow, were trampled by the fast-marching feet of foot soldiers, following closely behind them and the knights riding their backs.

Emperor Namjoon, who was leading his huge army of brave and talented wolves on his trusted horse suddenly halted and raised his arm to stop his trailing vicious entourage.

Adorning a snow white and silver armour, embellished with metallic black accented engravings and details, along with a black cape attached to his shoulder, the Emperor looked menacingly strong, confident and magnificent. The valour and intense glint in his monolid eyes and posture, made him appear like the incarnation of the God of War.

In the harsh cold winds of Ignitus, just a few miles away from the capital, 1750 soldiers camouflaged in similar snowy white, silver armour and uniforms, stopped at the command of their supreme leader and stood in long files. Attaining their positions in attention, they awaited their Emperor's next set of orders.

Namjoon turned his horse around. His gaze fell first on the foremost rows of noble knights and then on the rows of foot soldiers. Senior or junior, each soldier was precious to the Emperor. If given the choice, he wouldn't want to lose any one of them or command them to fight any kind of wars.

However, Namjoon had realised pretty soon in his tenure as the emperor of the nation that he didn't have the liberty to make such ideal choices. In the ironic world they live in, peace can only be maintained by war.

With a pained expression, Namjoon glanced over the seventeen hundred and fifty brave souls. A war with zero casualties has a very low probability. That probability decreases further when one considers the big disadvantage his army would be fighting in today's war.

The emperor sighed heavily, feeling the weight of his big, moral decision. Had it been any other opponent, his highly trained army would have mercilessly fought through and emerged victorious with a handful of casualties. But alas, today they fight a crafty and cowardly enemy holding his innocent people hostage. Irrespective of the outcome of the war, it was clear that the people sacrificed would be his innocent, brave and unfortunate wolves.

Clearing his voice, Namjoon in a loud, authoritative voice addressed his army,"My brave soldiers! We are a mile away from the capital and before we launch an attack on them, I want to sincerely express my gratitude to my courageous army. Today, I ask for difficult demands and great sacrifices from my brave fellow wolves. Today, we are not fighting an enemy but our people who have been innocently put for slaughter by the real enemy, who hides behind them like a bloody coward."
