The ball bounces into the cup, and a small splash spurts out. I let out a sigh, feeling the pressure of the game. Teddy looks at me with a sexy smirk, and I pick up the cup, downing the contents quickly.
Teddy's on fire tonight; he hasn't missed a shot yet. Quinn is just as sharp, matching Teddy's accuracy. Meanwhile, Kenny and I are tipsy as hell, struggling to keep up with their perfect streak. The intensity is high, and every shot feels crucial.
Time seems to stop when my brain focuses on Kimberly and Summer in the corner of the room, chatting among themselves. As they look at me and giggle, I suddenly become humiliated. My cheeks flush, and I feel a knot tightening in my stomach.
Kenny taps me on the shoulder as it's my turn to shoot. I let out a shaky breath, trying to steady my nerves. I bounce the ball, but it spins off one of the cups and lands on the table. I let out a defeated sigh, feeling the weight of everyone's eyes on me. The room's noise fades into the background as I grapple with my embarrassment.
"We win," Quinn says as he takes a sip of his beer, giving me a mocking grin. He high-fives Teddy, whose eyes are already on me. I make my way to leave, walking away until I'm hidden in the crowd. I need to find my friends and get out of here.
"Not so fast, doctor." I feel Teddy's hand on me, and I don't look behind. "What do you want?" I grind out, the music drowning out everything else.
"I won, remember our bet?" he says smugly.
I roll my eyes. I most definitely didn't forget. "Fine, what's it going to be?" I ask, bracing myself for whatever he has in mind.
"You wouldn't want me to tell you here," he says, his hazel eyes flickering down to my lips. I take a sharp breath, feeling the tension between us.
"Well, let's hurry up and get it over with," I sigh, trying to mask my anticipation. He gently takes my hand and guides me upstairs, away from the noise and chaos of the party that continues below.
Each step we take seems to heighten the suspense, the murmurs and laughter from the party fading into the background.
I slap his hand off of me, not wanting his touch. How dare he try and touch me after pushing me aside again with no explanation.
I feel his gaze on me as I reach his room. "Stop eying my ass, Teddy," I murmur as I turn around, his hungry eyes trailing up my figure.
"Are you drunk?" I question, trying to make sense of the situation.
"It doesn't matter," he sneers as he walks by me into his room and drops on his bed.
"What did you want?" I demand, watching him intently as he opens his eyes and looks at me.
"I want to be inside of you," he breathes, my eyes widening in shock as I take a sharp breath, feeling my cheeks heat up with a mix of surprise and desire.
