"Quiet you fucker," Someone scowled at the wyvern

"Stay proper," a colder voice snapped.

"Yes commander,"

"Remember we were dispatched to find the other Lie'Seeker of this generation. Do not falter, it should not be difficult,"

"Why is that, sir,"

Wren heard the footsteps stop a little too close to his hiding spot.

"Their village was exterminated when they were around 7, or so our information and attack records say. Everything is according to plan, and they survived but they will have no recollection of 'special abilities' therefore they can easily be captured and transferred to the facility."

Wren froze every muscle tensed. He stared into the distance, a puddle of hatred pooled at his feet. Crawling up his body scratching at his skin and piercing his lungs.
He felt his body move before he could think, like he was an empty shell controlled by sadness and rage.

He came around the corner and faced the people, well one wasn't human.
There was a man mid 20s in military uniform a wyvern that remained unmoving and a Seeker.. he couldn't tell if it was a Truth'Seeker or Lie'Seeker, he was a teenager maybe 16
He was wearing a white shirt and black trousers with a dark brown trench coat slung over his shoulders. His eyes were blue, his horns cut down to the base, yet they were a pristine white along with his unkept hair about shoulder length. His fur was a pale blue leaning towards white, there was a tag on one his ears that read '001' his Seeking eye was shut. Half of their tail was missing the rest replaced by a mechanical one.

Wren watched in horror as they smiled,

A horrible,

Sadistic,

Smile.

...

"Hello there Lie'Seeker, you just made my job ridiculously easier~," They sneered through a smile. Wren took a step back in horror, who was this Seeker'! Why— why were they with a wyvern and a human!

Wren met his eyes, his eyes glazed with fear in contrast to the pure joy in theirs.. the thrill of the hunt..

"Why..WHO ARE YOU!" Wren shouted shaking with rage and fear as the numb feeling creep up his spine tugging at his legs.

"You don't need all the answers Wren,"  Wren froze.

"How did you know.. why do you know.."

"Like I said I don't owe you an answer Wren," They spat his name out like it was a burden to remember.

Wren watched in horror as they pulled out what looked to be a white cloth, the stench of whatever chemical was on there hit him right where he stood.

He ran, he just ran, ran straight back to Nova; she was finally properly awake dressed in a green t-shirt and dark purple shorts that reached her knees. Wren didn't give her time to think and just grabbed her wrist

"We need to go NOW."

Nova tried to protest but but Wren had already dragged her out the shack and towards the forest.

"Wren! What the fuck! Why are we going to the woods?!" Wren didn't answer, he heard the sound of wood crashing and a wyverns roar, he hoped Nova heard it too as she had stopped protesting and was now running with him.

The edge of the forest grew closer an thin fog circling the trees, Wren stopped and looked at nova questioning if this was a good idea or not but apparently, that was all the time the 'commander' need to catch up.

He felt the damp cloth wrap around his mouth an agonising stench filling his lungs. He watched Nova desperately try to grab his hand, he wished he could remember more before he slipped into unconsciousness.

The flames creeping into his dreams.
