Wren shot up; he was just in bed.. everything was fine.. Wren reassured himself. He held his hands to his face and sighed.

He had dreamt of the day he lost everything he knew. He had the same nightmare everyday of the past 8 years.

Wren got out of bed and changed into his clothes.

It was an orange shirt, he had modified it to fit his extra 2 arms, a navy blue sleeveless jumper he had stolen for winter and some brown trousers. He had never been that stylish. Wren brushed his hair and started into a cracked mirror, he had punched it when he was 7 after seeing how the explosion mutilated him.
'Stop reminiscing.' His seeking eye scowled, slowly opening.
Wren sighed and looked away from the mirror as the eye closed.

For some reason Nova's Seeking eye was never open, it never seemed to talk to her.
Though, Wren's was always talking to him, helping him, keeping him safe.

Wren's eyes lit up as he remembered the promise he made to Nova when he was 10.
"One day! When we are 15 or.. when I'm healed" young Wren scratched his neck as he continued. "I'll make sure! We never have to see this place again!"
Nova just laughed and ruffled his hair
"Thanks Wren!"

The memories came rushing back to him. He hurriedly packed a bag shoving some rags, a few bandages, a flask of water and some food he stole for himself and Nova when the blacksmith refused to feed them in the bag.

Wren shook Nova awake.
"You remember the promise I made!" Wren whisper-shouted as Nova had barely just managed to open her eyes.
"Wha.." Nova mumbled rubbing her eyes.
"Well guess what! It's my birthday!! I'm 15!"
Nova managed a smile shoving Wren aside as she sat up.
"I remember.." She yawned, her eyes shot open.
"Shit—,"
"Shh!!"
"Oh yeah.. — I don't have a bag packed,"

Wren held up two bags "I already packed for you!"
Wren grabbed Nova's hand ripping her out of bed she was still in plain white pyjamas.
Wren pulled her down the stairs and out of the house through the blacksmiths and into the streets.

...

The streets were still, Wren let out a sigh, everything was as it were frozen. A perfect time capsule he was lucky enough to uncover. Wren shoved that thought away.

He pulled Nova through some streets to a small shack he had set his eyes on as a plan since he was 11.
He pushed the door open barely glancing at the place as he set Nova down on what looked to be a pile of cloth.

"Nova, I'll be back I need to get some supplies." Wren said feeling a little relieved, but he couldn't relax just yet, he still had to be alert.

"Yeah.. yeah.." Nova yawned.

Wren smiled before rushing out, the streets were cold, it would never be the same as— 'Shut up' his seeking eye demanded. Wren sighed again as he continued down the streets, he was looking for a 'Camp store' or so he was told 'Something is here..' Wren sucked  air through his teeth moving into an alleyway listening out for anything.

Suddenly he was there again, watching his past that could've been a beautiful future go up in flames.

Walking towards the heart, the agony he felt deep into his sanity

It was different though, at the heart of his village stood a woman.

She was around 20, hair the same brown as his, it fell to her elbows. Her eyes where white, the same horns as Wren's except she had 4 instead of 2 or,  Wren should have had 2. They went from the same brown as her hair into a blue then a lighter blue. She was wearing a white dress that but after her waist her body seemed to fade away.
The fire avoided her.

(Photo cuz like I dunno how to describe the hair)

Back to where Wren was, he was curled up into a ball on the floor clutching his head trying to shake the image out.
"It's not there..? Why am I here— no why did I survive? Why no.. I don't deserve, WHY DID YOU LET THEM ALL DIE,"He rambled suddenly getting brought back by his seeking eye.

'WREN WREN!! It's not there! They are getting closer pay attention!"

Wren opened his teary eyes and pressed his back against the wall his legs and hands shaking.

He heard the steps of a.. wyvern?.. Then the roar that had sent him spiralling into a panic attack, Wren shook out the flames that crept into the corners of his vision, listening to the conversation that followed.
