Y/N POV | THIRD YEAR OF HS | DEC

"if you guys don't get married i think i might cry" atsumu sighed dramatically. "we're only in our third year of highschool tsumu, don't be dramatic" i chuckled. "yeah but you guys have been dating for like, three years, that's a super long time!" he exclaimed.

"it's okay atsumu, they're definitely gonna get married or something like that" keiko reassured him. atsumu pouted, making suna snicker. "dont be mean rin" keiko said, gently slapping his arm. "sorry babe" he muttered, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"can't believe we're going to university soon" i said, munching on the onigiri that osamu made for the day. "this year has felt so weird without kita taking care of us" suna said unexpectedly. we all looked at him puzzled. "what? a guy can't miss an old friend?" he shrugged his shoulders. and used his free hand to go on his phone.

"i can't believe you got a scholarship to go play volleyball at yale" atsumu sighed. "well that just proves that im the better setter" i teased, lightly kicking atsumu's leg from under the lunch table. "shut yer trap" he rolled his eyes. "it's only a trial year, if i don't like it tok-u offered me a spot"

"that's a whole twelve months without my best friend" keiko frowned. "i'll make sure to bring back lots of gifts for you guys" i smiled. i briefly looked at osamu, who looked upset.

out of everyone in the group, he was the one that was greatly affected by it. we still didn't know what to do about our relationship, but we decided that we would try. and if things didn't work out, then they wouldn't work out.

after practice, osamu and i walked out to the parking lot. "wanna drive around?" he asked. "sure" i replied, throwing my bag into the backseat.

after we drove around for a bit, we ended up in an empty grocery store parking lot.

"you seemed a little off during lunch today" i said, shifting around in my seat. osamu turned off the car and sighed. "yeah. i'm just thinking about your move" he said, shifting to look at me. "i figured. but it's only for a year, and if i hate it then i'll come back" i said.

"what if you end up liking it?" he asked. "then id stay. but regardless, i know that we'd work it out" i put my hand on his. "we always figure something out. this time is no different" i said.

"i know. i'm just scared that you'll find someone else when yer down there" he shrugged his shoulders. "why would i do that when you're my only love?" i asked.

what i felt for osamu was so much more than love. i was certain that he was the one. he felt like home, security, and safety. and even though all of that stuff sounds superficial, it's real. i hold him very dear to my heart, and i don't think anything could change that. even if i met some super hot american guy.

"i love you" he said, grabbing the back of my neck to give me a kiss. "i love you too" i said against his lips. we continued to make out, the kiss only getting more aggressive as it continued. "back seat" he murmured.

he got out of the car and took our bags, and put them in the trunk.

i climbed over the center console and waited for him in excitement.
