OSAMU'S POV

"get outta here, she's gonna be here any minute" i said, pacing around the room. "calm down samu, it's not like you guys are gonna do anything. yer acting like this is the first time she's been over" atsumu rolled his eyes.

"okay but still! this is progress, let me be!" i sulked, putting my laptop on the table. "we'll get outta your way samu, don't worry" suna smirked, patting my shoulder. "can't believe it took ya this long to realize you wanted her back" he shook his head.

"better late than never?" i asked, shrugging my shoulders. "just wish ya didn't have to cheat on her to realize it" atsumu raised his eyebrow. "i agree" sakusa said.

sakusa finished tying the laces to his shoes and they all left the house. "use protection!" suna said before closing the door. i rolled my eyes and sat on the couch.

i felt my phone buzz and immediately picked it up, only to see that it was from suna.

i left him on read and stood up anxiously. this is the first time we've hung out since our breakup, if we didn't count our library and cafe group work sessions.

safe to say, i was really fucking nervous.

i heard a knock on the door and immediately went to open it. "hey" i said, letting her in. "hey" she smiled and walked in.

i went to the closet and grabbed a pair of slippers, before getting a wipe and sanitizing them. "sorry, its a habit sakusa got us into. you can wear these" i said, letting the slippers drop to the floor. y/n put them on and we both sat on the living room floor.

"i come with sweet treats" she said awkwardly, putting the bag on the table. "keiji and i meet up for high tea every week. i just brought the leftovers" she said, pulling out the contents.

there were various sweets ranging from macarons to cannolis, and little sandwiches as well.

i then started to think. were her and akaashi dating? they're already on first name basis. maybe they were just friends?

"are you guys, uhm, dating?" i asked, scratching at the back of my neck nervously. "oh no" she chuckled, shaking her head. she ran her fingers through her hair and smiled.

"we just meet up often to catch up about our lives. he's still attached to his ex, and my situation is complicated. it's just nice to have someone to talk to about these kind of things"

"got it, got it" i nodded my head. i grabbed a sandwich and put it into my mouth to further prevent myself from talking.

i grabbed my laptop, typing in my password and opened up the class portal. "okay, im kind of nervous" she said. "me too don't worry. i'm sure we did great though, i mean the simulator did say we had a 98 percent success rate" i replied.

"okay... assignments, finals, oh gosh it's right there!" she covered her eyes. i chuckled at the sight, she was adorable.

the mouse hovered over the reveal grade button. "just press it!" she groaned, throwing her head back on the couch. "well don't lean yer head back because then ya can't see" i rolled my eyes. she put her head back up and i pressed the button.

"am i seeing that right?" she asked, rubbing her eyes. "holy shit. that really does say 98 percent" she gasped. "holy fuck" my jaw dropped. i immediately took a picture and sent it to my parents.

"no fucking way! samu! we did it" she said happily. in the heat of the moment i quickly brought her into a hug, and she didn't pull away.

for some reason, her sitting in my living room, in my arms, was the most natural thing ever. it's almost like she belonged here.

maybe that's how it was always meant to be.

we both looked at each other and smiled. "friends?" i asked. "friends" she smiled.

friends don't spend hours cuddling like we did.
