Y/N'S POV | TWO WEEKS LATER

"hey keiji!" i said, sitting infront of him. "hey y/n. how was class?" he asked, pushing the iced matcha infront of me. "class was alright, i have so much to tell you though. how was your class though?" i asked, taking a small sip out of my drink.

"it was fine, her and i actually talked today. well, kind of? i don't really know. i held the door open for her because we got to class at the same time and she said 'thank you'. but what really threw me off was that she said 'thank you, keiji'"

"woah keijs that's a big deal. she could've addressed you by akaashi, but she said keiji! that's a good step in the right direction. maybe you could try sitting next to her in class now?" i suggested.

"i could maybe come in late. she usually doesn't have anyone sitting next to her, i just gotta hope someone takes my seat that day then" he plotted, putting a finger on his chin.

"literally do it."

at this point in our friendship, we've just been feeding into each others delusions, which in retrospect, may be bad.

"okay tell me about osamu" he clasped his hands together.

"okay, so, we were both locked in on our midterm project. like, so locked in. and then when we finished he we both stood ups me got ready to leave and he said 'we make a good team' and then double high fived each other. AND THEN, we just stayed holding hands like that and i replied with 'maybe we always have been'"

"oh he so wants you back. no guy would just hold hands with his ex like that unless they meant it" akaashi nodded intently. "have you guys talked since then?" he asked.

"wellll, kinda? not really. ugh! i don't know! we literally see each other every class because our semester is the same but it's only that class where we sit together. so there isn't much time for us to converse like that without it seeming weird"

"that's understandable. maybe you could text him? or is that too weird" he asked, taking a bite out of one of the many macarons we bought.

"okay wait," i pulled out my phone. "what do i say?" i pulled up our text chain. "oh what the fuck? he's typing, oh hell no" i quickly turned off my phone. "that's literally a sign you guys are meant to be. what're the odds you go to text each other at the same time?"

my phone buzzed and i immediately started to freak out. "i'm scared to open it! what if he's saying 'don't ever hold my hands again dumb bitch' or hes saying that he's in love with me!" i groaned.

"just open it" he rolled his eyes. "okay you're right. i need to stop being a pussy"

"because i'm like that. now let's get all these things packaged up, and you take them on your little date tonight" he said, calling the waiter over.
