Y/N POV

akaashi and i met up for our weekly coffee dates like usual, but as time went on all i could do was think about osamu. i don't know why his existence was always looming over me like a ghost.

we've kind of become friends, well if you count taking outside of our project.

but everytime we talked, i kept feeling weird butterflies in my stomach. everytime i looked at him, i saw the same boy from highschool that i fell in love with.

akaashi and i decided to just be friends. turns out we both weren't over our exs, and that's okay. we were still good friends who met up for weekly coffee just to ramble about the memories with our exs, occasionally showing each other photos.

i couldn't help but wonder if osamu ever felt that way about me since i came back.

we reached midterms, which meant the project would've coming to a close.

"last week of this project that i hate and love so much" osamu said, greeting me as i sat down next to him. we immediately got to work.

"okay, so i did all the math for the different accounts, including the drawing and accounts receivable, based off of the assumption that business is booming all year round. i put it into the simulator and it said our strat was ninety five percent effective" i said, digging through my backpack.

"i also finished the drawing for the building" i pulled out my ipad and apple pencil. i opened the drawing app and slid the ipad over. "holy shit,
y/n this is good. like, really good" osamu said, looking at every detail of my drawing.

"thanks, i tried" i replied. "okay so all we need to do is input everything into the simulator and then submit our work" he sighed.

apart of me wishes this project was never ending.

"i'll put everything into the simulator," he said. "you already did a lot of work, just submit the online stuff and i'll do this" he finished.

"alright, class is done. get your midterm project in by 11:59 tonight. every day missed is a ten percent deductible" the professor said.

"we're almost done, let's just sit in here for a bit and quickly finish" i said. halfway through osamu and i switched so i was now diligently typing away on my laptop.

ten minutes later we finally finished and submitted everything. i sighed and leaned back in my chair, letting out a breath of relief. "we're done, finally"

"good job. we make a good team" he smiled, looking over at me. he put both of his hands up. i high-fived him, our hands just stayed like that until they eventually interlocked. "i suppose we always have been" i whispered.

we made eye contact for awhile before my phone started to ring. we both jumped and broke the eye and physical contact. "sorry, i have to go to practice. uh, good job." i said, quickly packing my things up and leaving.

my heart raced as i walked to the gym.

"woah, y/n, you good? you look super flushed" asami asked. everyone else looked at me with raised eyebrows. "we held hands" i said, putting a hand on my forehead. "what? with who?" hana asked.

"osamu."
