there's a moon out tonight

there's a moon out tonight,
casting its glow while my heart remains empty.
in its soft light,
the endless ache of losing you endures.

the cold touch of night makes way on desolate shore,
where the wind carries your memory
and the sand is marked by footprints
of what once was.

the thing about grief—
it lingers in callous nuances
as time continues growing around a wound
that never truly heals.

new life will flourish,
planting seeds in the cracks
where sorrow once took root,
like delicate threads of green
weaving through the remnants of dusk.
