Smut alert ahead!

Enjoy ;)

It wasn't long after we had finished eating when I started helping Aunt Cathy clean the table. Boone and Tyler tried to help us, but Aunt Cathy shut that down real quick. 'Guest weren't supposed to help clean.' She told them. She did allow me to help her at least. We were in the kitchen finishing washing up the dishes. Tyler, Boone, and Kate were still at the table outside talking. Tyler and Kate were laughing at something Boone said, bringing a smile to my face.

"You really like that boy, don't you?"

I look over to Aunt Cathy. She was looking at me with a soft smile. "I really do."

"It's about time you finally realized your feelings for him." I look over to her.

"You knew?"

"Of course I did." She answered. "I knew from the moment you brought him up that you were smitten for him. Took you long enough."

I rolled my eyes at her, causing her to smack me with the towel. I let out a yelp when she caught my leg. "One day, I'm going to properly learn how to do that, and then it's all over for you."

"Honey, if you ain't learned how to yet, you never will." She twisted the towel again, but I was able to dodge it this time. I let out a groan as I slammed my knee into the counter. She let out a laugh as I rubbed my knee. "Good to know you're still clumsy."

"You're so funny." I groan before going back to washing the dishes.

"Your parents would be so proud of you, you know?"

I freeze nearly dropping the plate back in the soapy water. I turn to look at her. "You think so?"

"I know so." She walked close to me, placing her hands on my cheeks. "You have become some a beautiful young lady with a career that you love and a man willing to follow you to the ends of the world."

"Sometimes I feel like I let them down." I admit.

"Sweet girl." I allow her to pull me into a hug. "You could never let those two down. They looked at you like you were the only star in the night sky."

"Thank you." I tell her as she pulls away from me.

"You're welcome, Dylan. Now get out of here."

"But -"

"No buts." She stops me. "Go back to them. I have it from here."

I go to leave but stop. "Aunt Cathy, can I borrow the truck?"

"I don't think you've ever asked before." She says, making me laugh. She was right. Growing up, I would always just say that I'm taking the truck. Never asked. Aunt Cathy didn't care as long as I was back at a reasonable time. "Go ahead. Keys are on the counter behind you. And your bag is still in the closet right next to the door."

I give her a quick kiss on her cheek and thank her before grabbing the keys. I pull open the closet and pull out the black backpack that I often took with me when I drove the truck. It didn't have much. A blanket and a pillow. I open the screen door and walk out onto the porch.

"Hey, Boone." I call his name, getting his attention. His head popped up before looking over at me. A large smile graces his face as he stands up. He walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist when he was close enough. He pulled me into his chest and rested his forehead on mine.

"Hello Darlin'." I smile, cheeks flushing at the new nickname. "Have I told you that you were looking mighty fine today?"

"You don't look too bad yourself." I retort. I close the distance between us as I press my lips to his. I hear him sharply inhale when he kisses me back. I trail my hands up his arms, smirking when I feel him pull me closer at the contact, and rest them on his shoulders. I felt myself getting lost in his kiss. I have thought about kissing his lips that looked so incredibly soft so many times, but I never thought it would happen. I always thought I would be too scared to do anything about these feelings. I still am scared, terrified actually, but I'm glad I faced my fears. I'm glad he pushed me to break into those fears because now I can only see myself being wrapped in his arms like I am now.
