"Hey Hank," I greet him. "Hey Y/N, you bought a lot," he laughs a little. "Yeah, it's easy when you can teleport," I grin. "I'll put this away quickly. Charles is upstairs?" I ask. "Yes," he says. "Okay," I say and quickly put everything away and then teleport myself upstairs and land right on the couch next to him. "Shit," he gets a fright. "I'm sorry," I say with a slight grin. Charles just rolls his eyes, grabs the bottle of whiskey and almost drinks it. "Are you drunk again?" I ask, even though I already know the answer. Since what happened in Cuba, almost everything has changed, except my love for him. I still love him like the first day and I let him know that every single day.
"A little," he says. "Give it here," I say and reach for the bottle, but Charles stays away. I just roll my eyes and teleport to the other side of the couch, grab the bottle and drink the rest. "Hey," he complains. "I know you have it tough, baby, but I have bad days sometimes too," I say and sit down next to him again.
Charles pulls me towards him. "Has something happened?" he asks worriedly. "No, not really, just a bad day," I say and snuggle closer to him.
A few empty whiskey bottles later, we're both completely drunk. I sit on Charles' lap and we kiss. "You have no idea how much I love you," he moans. "Let's go to the bedroom and you show me," I grin.
We stand up. I stumble a little and Charles holds me tight. "Slow down, darling," he smiles.
Oh, that beautiful smile. "Your smile is so beautiful," I smile and see him become a little embarrassed.
I take his hand and we immediately walk towards the bedroom. When we get there, I close the door and the next moment Charles pushes me against the door and kisses me passionately.
He breaks the kiss and starts kissing my neck. "Charles," I moan. "Jump," he growls in my ear and I do what he wants and wrap my legs around his waist. I can clearly feel his erection and moan softly.
He presses his lips to mine again and pushes his tongue into my mouth. My hands wander into his hair and tug on it slightly. He growls in response.
I pull away from the kiss. "Charles, please," I whine. Charles carries me to our bed, lays me down, and then pulls away from me.
I watch as he takes off his shirt and admire his beautiful body. Next he pulls down his pants and the next moment something falls out of his pocket. I see that it is a box and I pick it up. "Charles, what is that?" I ask and want to open it. "Nothing," he says and suddenly rips it out of my hand. I look at him somewhat surprised. "What is that?" I ask again. When Charles still doesn't say anything, I rip it out of his hand and open it. There is a beautiful ring in it. I look at Charles in surprise. "I-I wanted to propose to you. For so long," he says quietly. "Why didn't you?" I ask and take out the ring. "I was afraid you would say no. It hasn't been easy over the last few years and I haven't exactly been the best of boyfriend," he says. "Don't say things like that, you're treating me like a queen. You haven't had it easy, Charles, but you've always done your best to take care of me. I love you," I smile.
Even though we are so drunk, it feels like we are sober right now.
Charles looks at me, then at the ring in his hand. He seems to be thinking about it, because he reaches for the ring and gets down on his knees.
"My darling, we have known each other for so many years now. I am grateful for every single day that I spend with you.
I can no longer imagine life without you. I love you and that is why I am giving you this ring as a symbol of our love and would like to ask you if you want to be my wife?" asks Charles. The whole time Charles was talking, tears were welling up in my eyes. "Oh my God, Charles. Yes, yes, I want to be your wife," I say, overjoyed. Charles stands up, puts the ring on my finger and then pulls me into a kiss.
After we break away, an idea comes to me. "Let's get married right now," I say. "What?" he asks, surprised. "Come on, let's get married right now. We have nothing to lose. I love you so much, I don't want to wait that long," I say. "I love you so much too, darling. Let's get married right now," Charles smiles. I smile at him and give him a kiss.
"But maybe you should put some clothes on," I laugh, and Charles grins but gets dressed again.
I take Charles' hand and want to teleport us to a wedding chapel, but instead we end up in a casino. "Should we get married here?" he asks, grinning. "Oh, shut up," I grin.
I've never used my powers while drunk before. I try again. This time we end up in a hotel room. Luckily, no one is here. After a few attempts, we find ourselves in front of a wedding chapel. "Finally," I sigh.
"That was interesting," Charles says with a slight grin. I just roll my eyes. "Ready, darling?" he asks. "Yes," I smile, and we walk inside.
the next day
I groan and slowly open my eyes. "Shit, what happened?" I ask, slowly sitting up. I see that this isn't our bedroom and I immediately get up, but regret it as I feel dizzy and sit back down on the bed. I notice the ring on my finger and take it off to take a closer look at the ring. I look at Charles, who also has a ring on his finger. Oh, damn, wait! Did we get married?
"Charles," I say, trying to wake him up. "Charles, wake up," I say, and he turns away from me. "Five more minutes," he groans.
I teleport myself to the other side of the bed. "Wake up!" I call, and Charles sits down in shock. "What?" he asks, looking around in panic. When he sees no danger, he looks at me, slightly annoyed. "Why did you wake me up?" he asks, and I point to the ring on my hand and then his. "Oh," is all he says. "Oh? That's all? I don't remember anything from yesterday," I say, sitting down on the bed.
"Come here," says Charles, and I move closer to him. "I can only remember bits and pieces, but it looks like we got married," says Charles, smiling. I can't help but smile. Suddenly, the memory of Charles proposing to me flashes through my mind. "I remember you proposing to me yesterday," I smile.
“I know it probably wasn’t perfect…” “Of course it was perfect,” I interrupt.
Charles and I look at each other intensely. We both move closer until our lips touch.
Memories of last night flash through my mind, how I tried to teleport us to the wedding chapel and ended up in the casino and a hotel room instead, and how we got married and drank more and sex.
We break away from the kiss. "Have you?" I ask, smiling. "Yes," he replies, grinning.
"So, my husband," I grin. "Yes, my wife?" he smiles.
I climb onto Charles' lap and kiss him.
Charles grabs my waist and turns us around so that he is on top and I am lying on the bed. "Let me take care of you," he whispers in my ear and kisses along my neck.
Later:
Charles and I are dressed and ready to go back.
I take Charles' hand and teleport us back.
"Where were you two?" Hank asks, staring at us in surprise. "Wait, did you propose and then get married straight away?" Hank asks when he notices the rings. "What? You knew about the ring?" I ask. "Yes, Hank helped me pick out the ring back then," Charles says. We chatted with Hank for a bit and then went upstairs.
"Charles?" I say. "Yes, darling?" he asks as he lies down on the bed. "How long have you had the ring?" I ask, lying down next to him. "I bought the ring two years ago. I thought about asking you every day, but I wasn't the best boyfriend during that time either," he says.
"Don't say that, you're there for me every day, you've always taken care of me. You haven't had it easy yourself, baby," I say and stroke his cheek.
“Let’s get some more sleep,” I say tiredly and snuggle up to Charles.
He puts his arms around me and pulls me closer to him. "I love you, my husband," I smile wearily. "I love you too, my wife," Charles smiles happily.
