Louis's PoV
Slowly I felt myself drifting back to consciousness, eyelids fluttering as I did so. Foreseeing the blinding white light that would hit me as soon as I opened my eyes I covered my face with my hand before opening them and slowly taking my hand away. I looked around the room. It was noticeably different to the one I had inhabited prior to the surgery. The creak of door hinges caused me to shift slightly in my bed. Not a good idea. Unbelievable pain shot up my right leg. It felt like it was breaking all over again. Breathing heavily I realised what was coming, turning gingerly so my head was over the edge of he bed, I vomited. The pain proceeded to pulsate. I retched again.
Eleanor who had been entering when I had made the terrible mistake of turning, hurried to my side.
I continued to vomit until my throat was raw and there was no food left inside me. After a few final dry retches where nothing at all came out, Eleanor turned me gently onto my back and left the room. She returned minutes later carrying a damp cloth. Tenderly she cleaned the edges of my mouth and then began to wipe up the mess on the floor.
"Sorry" I murmured
"For what Lou, this isn't your fault" Eleanor said gently, standing up and pecking me on the cheek.
"Why have I moved rooms?"
"Well" Eleanor began "the surgery didn't go too well, your leg was broken in more places than they thought and when trying to rejoin one break they hit your artery, the one in your upper leg, you lost a lot of blood" she finished lamely.
"Oh" I stated even more lamely.
We lapsed into silence and Eleanor, who was sat on the edge of my bed, began to absentmindedly fiddle with her bracelet. It was a silver chain strung with tiny silver charms. I had bought it for her, a birthday present. That exchange in the tiny coffee shop, hidden well away from fans prying eyes, now seemed so long ago. The bracelet had then be sparsely decorated. It had held only a single charm. A small jandal testament to the island holiday we had recently been on. Now however the chain was hung with animals, hearts and other various items that had each been meticulously hand chosen to make sure it was of value to the owner. He himself had spent many a time pouring over glass cases in jewellery shops at the expense of that bracelet."Perrie's coming tomorrow" Eleanor said breaking the silence.
I nodded slowly, unwilling to use my already burning throat. I did however seem to have formulated a sentence that included a request for water because Eleanor was up and filling a glass before I realised the words where even out of my mouth."Making me work for a kiss now are we", she said in fake annoyance.
"You bet ya", I replied flashing a gleaming smile and a wink in her direction.
" There's that good old Tomlinson charm we all know and love!"
I continued to grin back hoping to hide the immense pain from view. Even I knew however that the smile did not reach my eyes and apparently so did Eleanor. Sympathetically she smiled back, put an arm round me and switched on the TV. I relaxed into her warm embrace and tried to focus on tonight's viewings.Sorry about the filler chapter but I hoped you enjoyed it anyway. I don't think it was really very well written but I really thought I needed to update. It's been so long I had pretty much forgotten about this story!
