90 | the night that changed it.

yeri looked at the building in front of them. she decided to change her outfit last minute, because her silver dress did not fit anymore. her belly had been growing a lot more, but yeri did not expect for it to change overnight. she had purchased the silver dress barely a week ago.

but, it meant that sicheng would be able to match her baby pink dress, that had a small flower near the top. sicheng found an old pink tie in the back of his closet, proudly showing it off to yeri. he was extremely happy that they were able to match.

now, they were going to walk into the club and greet jaehyun, but yeri was unsure of why he was hosting such a huge event. she did not recall any important news about his father deciding to step down as a chairman, or a possible new project between them and another company.

she was dying of curiosity. while something like this was usual in the world they lived in, yeri needed to know what jaehyun was up to. she looked over to sicheng, who was on his phone. he had texted kun, asking him if he was going to come.

" why is jaehyun hosting such a big party ? is there anything he needs to celebrate ? " yeri asked sicheng, slowly shaking his arm. he looked up from his phone, but it did not seem like he heard her question. " what is with this party ? " she repeated.

sicheng let out a laugh. " ah, the jeong foundation made a huge donation for this academy, and jaehyun's name was on it. this was a huge step for his official entrance into the race for chairman. " he explained to yeri, who raised her eyebrow.

" race ? jaehyun is an only child, why would he be scared for his spot as chairman ? " yeri asked. it was an interesting situation, and she wished to know more about it. " sooyoung always mentioned that jaehyun was prepared to take the title at any time. "

" well, it is rather complicate what is happening. jaehyun's father is the middle son, so he was not supposed to take the company. his older brother and his son, jaehyun's cousin, moved to the states. " sicheng told yeri, who suddenly understood the situation.

" there is a chance that they will come back, to claim the title. " yeri assumed, as sicheng nodded. " that is really weird. i have never heard sooyoung mention that, and we both know for how long they were together. maybe he was not aware back then ? "

sicheng thought that could be possible, but it was not the right time for them to continue gossiping about the current situation regarding jaehyun. he held yeri's hand a little tighter, as they walked into the club.

people dressed in suits and black gowns were talking to eachother, but yeri could not seem to recognize any of them. she waited to see where sicheng was going to walk to. she immediately noticed jaehyun, who was dressed in a simple dark blue suit.

he was laughing with an older man, until he felt a tap on his shoulder. he turned around, seeing jaehyun and yeri standing in front of him. a small smile appeared on his face, as he pulled sicheng into a hug. the two had not been able to realise that they were still friends in quite a long time.

" congratulations, jaehyun. " sicheng pulled out of their hug, " maybe this is the start to your involvment as a chairman. " he smiled, allowing jaehyun to let out a laugh and slowly nod. " what a lovely venue, too ! "

" thank you very much, sicheng. " jaehyun replied, " i also should congratulate you and yeri. you are going to have your first child. " he continued to smile, as yeri turned over to him. she did not know what to tell him, and wanted to get away from there.

" well, what else can i say, maybe one day you will also be a father and have your own little family. who knows, it might be sooner than you think. " sicheng let out a laugh, " i think me and yeri will head to our table. enjoy the rest of the night. "
