60 | it is finally happening.

" i am at work right now, did you leave the house yet ? yeri, the appointement is in thirty minutes ! i better see a message about you being already there, waiting for the woman to let you in. " sicheng wrote in his message, as yeri rolled her eyes. who did sicheng think she is ?

yeri was already at the hospital, something that made her a little nervous. in less than ten minutes, she was going to enter the room, where a nice lady was waiting to tell her if she was pregnant or not. it was, indeed, scary, even if she was fully prepared to be a mother.

she was prepared to call her mother, to tell her she was going to have a child. but, what if she was not pregnant ? it was not the first time she thought that she was carrying a child, but, compared to that time, yeri did actually see clear signs.

it was too obvious, at this point. there could not be an answer to her sudden mood change, to her bloating, because yeri had never experienced something like it before. as she continued to think about it, she realised that she had felt sick a few times, without figuring it out.

suddenly, as she lost herself in thoughts about different signs she ignored, a nurse walked up to her. " mrs. .. dong ? " the nurse asked, as yeri's eyes widened. " i am sorry, mrs. kim, the doctor is waiting for you. i will take you to the room. " she smiled, receiving a small nod from yeri.

yeri got up from her seat. she took a deep breath, quickly catching up with the nurse. once they reached the door that lead into the room yeri was going to enter, the nurse opened it for her, bowing slowly. yeri walked in, seeing the doctor, sitting on a chair.

" ah, you must be yeri. " the woman got up, as yeri smiled towards her. she nodded, " i talked to sicheng a few days ago. it was very shocking to me, because i remembered sicheng as this very childish man. who would have thought that he, one day, calls me to tell that his wife might be pregnant ? "

yeri let out a laugh. she had guessed that the doctor was around the age of sicheng's parents. after he let her know that she was the doctor that he had made an appointement at, yeri searched up her name and tried to find out everything about her.

kang miriam was an american-born doctor, that just happend to be in the same class as dong jiehong, sicheng's father. after he helped her with an assigment, miriam became good friends with he and his wife. she was the one that told mrs. dong about her three pregnancies.

yeri knew she could trust mrs. kang. as she sat down on the chair next to her, miriam walked up to her, holding a small container. yeri let out a sigh, looking at her hands. why was she scared ? it was not a big deal, it was not like she was going to give birth in that exact moment.

" okay, yeri, i will need an urine or blood test, to determine your pregnancy. could you tell me when you noticed some signs ? " mrs. kang asked, as yeri turned to her. yeri began to wonder the exact moment in which she experienced a sign for the first time.

" about.. a week ago ? it was in milan, and i saw that i did not get my period. honestly, it is usually like that, so i did not worry. " yeri began, as mrs. kang nodded. " then, earlier this week, sicheng told me that he noticed a change in me, and i noticed strange bloating. that is about it. "

" seems like a positive answer to me, then. if you do not usually experience these things, then you might be pregnant. " miriam let out a laugh, putting on her glasses. yeri looked back down, taking another deep breath. suddenly, she felt weird about everything.

what if everything went wrong ? what if she was not pregnant, and she made her friend and husband excited for absolutely no reason ? yeri knew it would not be a big deal to anyone, but to her, it would be. she had many expectations, and she did not want to be disappointed.
