"We are going.. TO THE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT!!"
"The.. Entertainment District?"
The Entertainment District, also known as the Red Light District; (I think) you had heard of it as being a lively and bustling city, with bright lights and many things to do. You never made any effort to there, only for a mission one time. But that was on the outskirts of the city.
"Thaaat's right! A wonderful, magical place filled with shops and food vendors, fireworks and music! It's the perfect place for a small vacation! I've always wanted to go!" Mitsuri exclaimed enthusiastically, clasping her hands together and practically floating in the air. You swore you could see little bubbles forming around her.
You couldn't turn her down, obviously. Who would?
"That sounds fun. Is it only for a night?"
"Actually, two nights! I thought one wouldn't be enough, but I'm sure you won't mind! Right?"
You laughed. "Of course not, Mitsuri."
"..that's not including the few days journey to get there, though."
Well, shit. But then again, you shouldn't get any missions during that time, hopefully. Maybe Ubuyashiki-sama would excuse you both?
"..That won't be problem! Just extra time to hang out, right?" You declared, brushing off the possibilities.
Mitsuri lit up once more, blush creeping onto her face. "Y-yes! You're right! Extra fun!!" She exclaimed, pumping a fist through the air.
You both fell into a fit of giggles, amused at yourselves. After your laughter had died down, the room filled with silence. But only for a moment.
"You know what this means, Y/n?" Mitsuri asked, a hint of slyness in her voice that made you a bit nervous.
"Uhh.. we get to eat a lot of food?"
"No, but also yes, because that's going to be so fun!!"
"Hrm.. we get to see the fireworks?"
"Yes, but not that. Try again."
"I don't know Mitsuri!" You said, exasperated as you hung your head.
You winced as Mitsuri poked her fingernail into your forehead. "You should know this!! You know.. GETTING AMAZING CUTE STUNNING KIMONOS TO DRESS UP IN!!" She squealed, tugging your wrist and catching you off guard as she pulled you into a hug. Well.. more like a death embrace. Your ribcage was NOT going to survive this.
"M-mits-uri-"
"FEAR NOT, CAUSE WE WILL GO SHOPPING TODAY!" She declared, either ignoring or not hearing your choked words.
You swore to whatever god was out there that you heard a crack in your back as Mitsuri finally let you go.
Outside, the sun was already setting sending beautiful rays of orange into the house, somehow making Mitsuri look more beautiful than she already was.
Who said that?
You straightened your posture, wincing at the stab of pain in your ribs. "Hahh.. okay. It's already getting late, are you sure you want to go right now?" You wondered, knowing demons were soon going to be lurking around.
"Of course! Besides, we're demon slayers! We can just go 'pow pow!" And bam, demons dead." She said nonchalantly, placing a hand to her chest with confidence and her other placed her her hip.
