we walked back down to the living room once i put myself back together.
i hate lying to my parents but i will for Mahlia
i'm also not a good liar at all. Mum can always spot when i'm lying
when we sat down Jake, Dad and Mum come in not long after then Celia nocks on the door
"Colby be a dear and shapeshift into me so i don't have to deal with her." mum complains
i eyeroll and sit back into my chair next to Mahlia
Celia barges in since no one opened the door for her, " I just came to let you know I installed security cameras around the property."
"Oh well, if this is about the missing tomatoes from your garden. I'm betting a deer stole them." Mum makes up
Mahlia let out a laugh at mums joke, she's looks so pretty when she laughs
"so what's with the security cameras, Celia?" Jake asks
"i'm supposed to tell you, you might be recorded since one of my cameras is facing your house. That's the law according to the chief of police a.k.a. my boo."
oh no, i thought, "wait what part of the house?"
"the back door." Celia answers
"that back door." i panic pointing the back door
"why is this child talking to me?" Celia looks around the room
"sorry he was cuter when he was little." Jake jokes
"still is." i hear Mahlia whisper
"anyway I can use this app to watch all the footage. I just need to read the instructions and figure out how it works. Which is gonna be way more exciting than sitting around listening to you people." Celia walks out
"this is bad." i say as soon as Celia leaves
" so I stole a few tomatoes. It might be the least evil thing I've ever done." Mum says
"no I think Celia's camera caught me using my power." i tell my family
"that's on me i had him shapeshift into a hairbrush since i forgot mine and the wind was crazy." Mahlia says
"I wasn't Shapeshifting. I didn't want to tell you, but there's something else I can do." i stand up and super speed around the room
"you have super speed?" Dad looks at me
"either that or those really cool shoes with wheels." Jake smiles
"you mean these?" Dad glides across the floor in his shoes
"okay. How can I have both Shapeshifting and super-speed? villains are supposed to get one type of power."
"Look while having two powers is certainly unique it's not completely unheard of." dads answers
" why didnt you tell us?" Mum asks me
"not to brag but i knew." Mahlia smiles
"yeah why didn't you tell us i could have got you to get me breakfast and my lunch. then maybe a little afternoon treat at the macaroon shop." Dad says
" it doesn't matter. I wouldn't wanna go. That's why I didn't tell you because I knew you'd all take advantage of my new power." i sigh
