the god's and ghost king alike came down to the ghost city to celebrate. hua cheng as right — the birth of the god and l/n y/n's child became a cause for celebration throughout the three realms. the medic masters in the heavenly realm did their best to assist y/n in his needs, they checked on him regularly, and made sure that he never pushed himself so he wouldn't get fatigued. when y/n's belly had swollen after five months or so, the god's could never tell the time, the medic masters had an idea already of the baby's gender.

so a party was arranged for the god to celebrate his child. a baby shower was to be held in the ghost city and hua cheng even opened up the gates of the paradise manor to anyone and everyone.

y/n sat back on hua cheng's impossibly large throne, holding his belly with one hand while two servants fanned him gently so he was comfortable. hua cheng was running around elsewhere, no doubt, planning the party so everything went well. xie lian was off entertaining guests so that y/n didn't have to worry about exhausting himself.

his two husband's — some of the finest men in the history of the three realms, and here they were, fussing over a party for their unborn baby.

if it was y/n's choice, he'd rather just stay indoors or take a swim in the river near puqi shrine.

"some pears, your highness?" a servant asks, walking up to him to present the golden fruits. y/n smiled half-heartedly before shaking his head.

the servant bowed their head and walked away.

"my husbands, where are those fools?" he sighed, leaning back a little as he felt sore in his bones already. he turned to one of his servants and asked, "where are they?" but the servant could not answer for he did not know.

y/n sighed again. the doors to the throne room were now wide open, tables were set up nearby and all the decorations seemed to be in place. a few guests started to trickle into the large room. some gods, some ghost's. y/n could even recognize the elemental masters from so far away. he made eye contact with the wind master, and the youth smiled at him as he began to make his way over to him.

"your highness!" shi qingxuan smiled. making his way over to him.

"ah, wind master." y/n smiles, hand on his belly. the wind master stops in front of him and offers him his greeting out of respect. then, he drops all formalities and wraps y/n in the biggest hug.

"your highness, i am so happy for you!" the wind master beamed. "i pray that you are in good health?"

"you are a god, wind master. who exactly did you pray to?" y/n chuckled, holding the wind master in his arms until the god pulls away. "but yes, i am healthy in every way possible."

"that's good. i hope it is a boy." the wind master says, pointing his fan in y/n's belly.

"my husbands hope for a girl." y/n laughed.

"what do you think, your highness?" shi qingxuan curiously asks.

y/n smiled fondly, "their gender does not matter. they could be born a man or a woman, or choose to be something else. my only hope is that they are kind and gentle."

the party itself was filled with many delicious foods, and all the guests were kept entertained by the musicians and the performers. soon enough, the baby's gender was time to be revealed.

the medic masters who dutifully attended to y/n for the past few months stood up and gained everyone's attention. three men stood in front and everyone's eyes were on them. the one in the middle brought out a scroll and unrolls it.

hua cheng grinned, placing a hand on y/n's belly. "if my luck is still with me, i hope for a girl..."

y/n and xie lian share a smile. y/n places a hand on top of hua cheng's squeezing his hand gently to reassure him.

"it is our greatest pleasure," one medic master starts.

"to announce that the child in his highness' belly is...." another one continues.

"a girl!!"

hua cheng nearly cried as he jumped to his feet, and the whole room erupted in applause. y/n smiled widely as he looked at xie lian, feeling incredibly proud. xie lian beamed and could not resist kissing y/n, holding him tightly. hua cheng raised his cup in joy.

"a girl..." y/n laughed, pulling away from xie lian as he could not help the way his heart fluttered at the thought of having a daughter.

"we have more news to share." one of the medic masters suddenly announce. "we are certain that the city lord would like to hear this."

"my love, sit..." y/n takes hua cheng's hand and pulls him to his side so he may sit and behave.

the whole room went quiet, eager to hear the medic masters' news. hua cheng sits down, and he gives y/n a smile.

"the baby inside his highness has the blood of the heavens running through her." the medic master says.

"and... she also has the blood of the ghost realm."

hua cheng turned to his pregnant lover and embraces him tightly. "the city lord has an heir." y/n laughed, wrapping his arms around hua cheng's neck. the whole room erupted in another round of applause. if the child was part ghost, then that would make the girl hua cheng's.

"the child is from me." hua cheng kisses y/n passionately, his heart overflowing with pride and joy. when he pulls away, he rests his head on y/n's neck, too happy right now. xie lian smiles, his arm, now loosely wrapped around y/n's waist.

"a toast! to the heir of the ghost city's, city lord!" xie lian raises a cup and everyone follows in suit, raising cups of wine in celebration.

"the child may be your creation, san lang, but do not forget that i am also her father." xie lian chuckled, his voice low enough for only hua cheng and y/n to hear.

"i know." hua cheng sighed, a very happy smile on his lips. "our next baby should be from you, gege! and the baby should be a son!"

"don't make such hasty plans when our firstborn isn't even born yet." y/n gently scolds hua cheng. "we haven't even decided on a name."
