"Well well if it ain't the loser twins." One of my older brother's friends says to two boys who look around my age. My eyes scan over them, lingering slightly on the one with glasses that got hit in the head with a pebble. "Nice boat. You get it at the dump?" Crampelter continues to mock them, my brother and their other friend joining in on laughing at the twins.

I pout slightly, crossing my arms. My brother changed since he started hanging out with these other two boys. He used to be nice. "You would know Crampelter, get lost." The twin with the bandaid on his cheek says, standing up to the three of them. My pout turns into a small smile as I stand off to the side watching the interaction.

"Listen dorks, and listen good." My pout returns immediately when he calls them dorks. "You're a six-fingered freak," He points at the one with the glasses before pointing towards the other twin. "And you're just a dumber, sweatier version of him."

I grip my arms tighter, getting more frustrated at the situation and the unnecessary comments towards the two boys. They weren't bothering anyone so why did my brother and his friends have to bother them? "And you're lucky you have each other cause neither of you will ever make any friends."

That comment pushes my emotions over the edge. "What's your deal?" I question loudly. "Leave them alone. They weren't bothering anyone. You three are the ones who don't deserve any friends." I then look at my brother. "Mom won't be happy to hear what you've been up to." I threaten him slightly as I narrow my eyes.

Crampelter and the other boy roll their eyes but my brother gulps at the mention of our parents. "Hey, we're just having a bit of fun." He shrugs casually, trying not to take my threat seriously. "Go have your "fun" somewhere else or I will tell mom."

As soon as my brother realizes I'm not bluffing he sighs, looking towards the other two boys. "Come on guys. Let's go before she rats us out for a little fun." He grumbles and the other two boys roll their eyes once more but all three of them start walking away. I huff out my last bit of annoyance as I watch them leave before turning to the twins.

"I'm sorry about them. They're just rude, immature kids." I say as I make my way to stand next to them. "It's alright.." The one with the band-aid on his cheek grumbles out and scuffs the toe of his shoe against the sand. "We're used to it by now..." I shake my head. 'It's not alright. It's not fair that they think they can treat you like that." I then look towards the one with the glasses, noticing his slightly zoned-out look. "You okay?" I ask in a slightly quieter voice.

"Hm? Oh, yeah I'm fine." He responds and snaps out of his zoned-out state, looking down at me with a small smile. "Just trying to figure out how that pebble's angle and velocity managed to hit my head the way it did." I give him a confused look before a smile forms on my lips. "You are strange. But a good strange." I then put my hands on my hips as I look between both of them. "My name's (Y/N). I think we'll be good friends."

He chuckles softly at my comment, probably happy to hear someone not insulting him for once. "I'm Stanford, but you can call me Ford." He smiles bashfully. The other twin rolls his eyes at his brother's reaction. "And I'm Stanley, the cooler twin."

I laugh slightly at Stan's outgoing personality. "It's nice to meet you both." Ford's smile grows. "Likewise." My smile also grows as I see Stan put his arm around Ford's shoulder. "Yeah, it's always a pleasure meeting a pretty new face." Ford quickly pushes his arm off with a grumble as I laugh more.

Ford glares at Stan before smiling shyly back at you again. "Don't mind him. He's just... Well...." Ford hesitates to look for the right word. "Awesome?" Stan offers, looking way too proud of himself. I shake my head amused at both of them. "You both are funny." I then glance off towards the ocean, noticing the sun beginning to set.

"I should probably start heading back home, especially since my brother's not with me." I sigh slightly thinking about how I'll actually have to pay attention to where I'm walking now on my way home instead of just following him like usual. "I'll see you guys around?" I ask hopeful. "Maybe we'll even be in the same class this year."

"Fingers crossed." Ford nods quickly, hope and excitement clear on his face. "Yeah, we'll definitely see you around." Stan chimes in with a wave. I wave back before starting to walk away, both of them calling out telling me to get home safe.
