marjorie (as siobhan) stood in now empty office. she was dreading the meeting. she had hoped she got a task more thrilling rather than doing another meeting with another parent. she forgot who the parent actually was, she scanned through the nursery's diary and paused at a name. vivian smith. she was known as one of the more tolerable parents, she sometimes caused drama but never without means.

marjorie made her way to the family room, stomping as she walked. she came to a halt at the door and prepared her mental checklist and her notebook, ready to write down any complaints ms. smith may have. she also made sure to act rude and condescending.

she went into the room. she was surprised to see vivian sat on the sofa. usually the managers would have to be there first, safety reasons. before marjorie could question this the other woman spoke first.
"hey bonnie, i've got your coffee." she reached behind the sofa and pulled out a drink tray with two cups inside. she passed siobhan's drink, the cup had black hearts drawn on the side. "i added the hearts myself." a bright smile painted her face and marjorie looked flabbergasted.

"wait- you bloody what?!" marjorie (siobhan) shrieked. vivian's smile flipped into a frown and she uttered a small "oh."
"wait wait my love, i didn't mean that!" marjorie interrupted. vivian's face changed again at the nickname. she was also very confused at the increased display of emotion.
"siobhan, are you okay?" she stood and walked over to who she thought was siobhan.

marjorie didnt know what to do as the woman picked up one of her hands and held it. also, she hates black americano. her brain was erratic and scatty. she choked out,
"yes i am- fine." she tried her best to speak like siobhan but failed.

vivian's face twisted a moment before saying, "alright, but please tell me if anything's wrong. okay?" her touch lingered before she let go of her hands. vivian walked over to the sofa and made space for siobhan. at this point, marjorie was
utterly confused. there were three other sofas, why would she sit on the occupied one? more specifically, why would siobhan?

marjorie trotted over and sat down, keeping a respectful distance. small talk fell upon the two. marjorie hesitantly
sipped at her gifted coffee, it was a revelation to her how good it tasted with siobhan's tastebuds. things were running smoothly when vivian popped the question.

"how are things at home with roger?"

vivian's eyes were flooded with concern but marjorie was left baffled, she had no clue how to answer.
"uh things are swell!" she raised her voice slightly.

"shibs, you dont have to hide these things from me, i thought we made that clear last week?" she was quick with her reply.

"oh! well um yea no things could be better?" her attempt at lying was futile alongside her short ramble.

"siobhan, we can always move this to tomorrow if you aren't feeling well today. would you like me to walk you out?" once again, she reached for her hand and marjorie gave it to her.

"that would be lovely thank you!" marjorie wasn't sure as to why she wanted to hold her hand, she was just incredibly overwhelmed. vivian went to pick up siobhan's bag. as she took notice to something,
"shibs, why do you have marjorie's glasses in your bag?" they both froze.

"oh uhm i must've picked them up on accident. yeah." she nervously laughed.

"im glad you're finally making amends with marjorie. i know how difficult this must be for you but im so proud." vivian smiled and gently placed the glasses back into her bag.

marjorie nervously laughed, again. she was completely and utterly dumbfounded. she just nodded at her words and left the room with her.

vivian had just left. she had dropped marjorie (siobhan) off by the office and said her goodbyes, not before reminding her to call on the landline.

once out of sight, she ran to toddler room and barged in.
"SIOBHAN- nope i mean charlotte my love, can we talk?" she ended with a forced grin. everyone in the room went quiet and turned to siobhan (as charlotte). she jumped out of the plastic chair and stormed to the doorway.

"what is it siobhan?" she half yelled. her face looked murderous, her blood was boiling.

"well, charlotte. what was the 'meeting' i just had with vivian all about?" siobhan (as charlotte) stilled at her words, the possibilities for how the meeting went were endless. siobhan walked into marjorie's office for a private space to talk in.

"i dont know what you mean marjorie just drop it."
"siobhan, how can i just drop that?"
"because it doesn't concern you."
"oh really? well when vivian holds your hand and calls you bonnie how do you expect me to react?"

siobhan simply walked out of the room and slammed the door on marjorie's face. she wished she could disappear in that very moment. she went into the family room and held the phone from the landline. she punched in vivians number, she knew it off by heart.
