Athena was young a naive
Her mother in the eyes of her park was perfection inside and out

Her doe brown eyes fooled them..

I groan as my eyes flutter open to see the time "Fuck sake!" I curse as I throw myself up knowing if I take my time I'll never get up I stand looking in my full body mirror I can't help but scoff at myself "That's a catfish" I say chuckling walking towards my bathroom I lift the over sized shirt I slept in over my head Exposing myself to a lovely chill to wake my mind up .
I climb into the shower doing my everyday routine I wet my hair and scrub my scalp with the expensive shampoo my mother insists I use The soft vanilla scent is nice I will admit .. I wash my hair twice and put a leave in hair conditioner mask as I grab my exfoliation glove And scrub I exfoliate ,shave my legs and under arms And repeat to ensure I'm smooth I then grab my body wash and my loofah scrubbing my body , I rinse the mask out and rinse my body and step out of the shower .
I Dry myself and wrap my body and hair in the towel I grab my skincare looking at my tired eyes I grab my face scrub and apply the mask And turn and grab a white nail varnish And a top coat I do my toes and finger nails I shake my hands to dry them quicker And apply a top coat so they look sleek , I stand and wash the face scrub off and grab My usual face wash I then grab my face towel and pat my face dry I put it back grabbing my moisturiser and other products and apply them finishing with my Under eye strips .
I brush my teeth applying teeth whitening strips And blow dry my hair and curl the end in bouncy curls , I walk into the bedroom and look for my outfit Mom picked out yesterday

I put it on carefully to not messy my hair I return to the bathroom and put my clothes in the hamper , I look at my reflection I grab my concealer under my eyes And any discoloured areas I take my false lashes and apply them to the ends of my lashes to make my eyes bigger I brush my eyebrows out and smile I apply some bronzer and blush And apply some light pink lip liner and a gloss I take my golden hoops and put them in .
I stare at my reflection My thick brunette hair falls to my waist neatly My deep green eyes stare back at me as I assess myself before my mother sees me My outfit fixed perfectly without a crease or imperfection My skin and makeup done to perfection though it looks natural I know it is far from it Everything in its perfect place I take a deep breath and take a step towards the mirror removing my teeth whitening strips And discard them I smile a Snow White smile I nod and take my purse and out my phone Charger my money and card and my keys .
As routine a firm knock on my door at 8:30 "Athena?" My mothers bitter sweet voice chimes "Yes mother" I reply tensing at her voice She opens the door and looks me over Her eyes like lasers assessing me She motions for me to spin and I do so She gasps as she grabs me tucking the back of my shirt in tighter then before "Have you woken up at all Athena dear goddess!" She says patting my clothes down "Sorry mother I hadn't realised" She scoffs "I do not care what you noticed ! We have an image an image I have done everything to have and maintain ! You will not stray from it for as long as I live" She says angrily She looks me over once more "You may leave" I nod as thanks walking down the stairs so my Footsteps make little noise as I do so.
