The Two Coronamons

Chapter 14

I look up at the sky as dusk takes over. The day was crazy. Multiple very...colorful arguments between Whispered and Olegmon, Coronamon trying to stop them, and Lalamon and Whispered trying to drink beer but getting stopped seven times by Olegmon. I lean against the edge of the ship and look over to see Lalamon asking Olegmon all sorts of questions.

"Was my dad really cool in the army? Did he like to brawl a lot??" She asks, floating around Olegmon.

"Your dad was more of one of those strategizer lads. Always stayed in his castle, making plans and ways to quote on quote "" thicken the plot"" Olegmon says.

"You think a guy with such good strategies could make better jokes." Whispered mocks.

"For once I agree with you" He laughs and Lalamon gasps. She goes to tackle Whispered to the ground. The loud thud scares Guilmon right to my side. I look to my right and I recognize the island to be Splashmon's and Ranamon's. I go over and pick up Bukamon, who was resting by the door. I go to the side.

"Splashmon! Ranamon! We've got Bukamon!" I yell and out comes Splashmon running to the boat. He jumps up and lands on his face. Whispered bursts out laughing while Coronamon helps him up.

"Bukamon!" He says, as he takes Bukamon from me and nuzzles his face against Bukamon's back. "Thank you!" he says.

"You really have to thank Olegmon, he did all the work..." I say and Splashmon faces Olegmon.

"Thanks Olegmon, but I didn't expect to see you out here so late."

"I'm taking them to the Northeast mainland, they should be more likely to find the other generals there." Olegmon says. Splashmon eyes dull, as he turns to me.

"Derin, listen closely. That mainland is full of forests and dangerous digimon. You need to be on high alert. Though I trust you and your digimon will be alright." He gets down on one knee. "I'll always be here if you need help. But for now, it's time I say goodbye." He stands up and walks to the edge of the boat, putting one foot on the brim. "Good luck to you all!" He waves us off before jumping off and back onto the island. The ship starts back up and we all wave to him.

"Thank you so much Splashmon!" I yell as soon mist overpowers the vicinity and the island drifts from view. I recall what he said, and luck, is what we really need right now.

(Meanwhile)

"You want another go at it, Myotismon?" Axeknightmon asks, shaking his head. "You better not let me down this time. Just get Coronamon and leave." Myotismon nods his head before turning around.

"You can count on me sir!" Myotismon flies off. As he makes his way out of the lair, he starts to fly off, only for a sword to fly in front of him. Terrified, Myotismon lands back on the ground to see Piedmon walking towards him.

"Another go, huh?" Piedmon asks.

"Now's the best time. They're going to the worst part of the land." Myotismon says. Piedmon's eyes widen.

"Northeast or South?" He asks. The south part could be equally dangerous but only during nighttime.

"Northeast" Myotismon answers. "They're gonna die either way because of all the creepy crawlies there. With only three champion digimon, they're sure to perish." Myotismon laughs.

"That's another thing that's concerning." Piedmon sighs. Myotismon cocks an eyebrow.

"How so?"

"Have you seen those digimon? They're bound to reach ultimate soon."

"I'm sure they won't!" Myotismon disagrees. Piedmon rubs his temples and looks to Myotismon.

"Myo, you can be a real idiot. Have you seen how strong the are as champions? Darwin or Derin, whatever his name is!" Piedmon scoffs, taking a deep breath before continuing. "His digimon consists of Whispered, who was a dark general before and his burning soul is for sure going to break out of the champion level binds. Guilmon is the freshest so it might take him a little while, but you've seen the rate dragon digimon evolve. Faster than others." Piedmon sighs. "And don't get me started on the flower." Piedmon says.
