Evelyn
As the evening shadows deepened, I found myself standing in front of the mirror, trying to gather the courage I would need for tonight. Dominic's words echoed in my mind, a promise of something more, something I wasn't sure I was ready for. But there was no turning back now. The pull between us was too strong, too intense to ignore any longer.
My reflection stared back at me, eyes wide and filled with a mix of anticipation and fear. Tonight, everything would change. I could feel it in the air, a tension that had been building between us for so long, now ready to snap.
I had chosen my outfit carefully-a deep, emerald-green dress that clung to my curves, with a neckline that hinted at daring without revealing too much. My hair fell in loose waves around my shoulders, and I had applied just enough makeup to enhance my features without hiding the real me.
Dominic had told me to be ready, but what exactly that meant, I wasn't sure. I only knew that whatever was about to happen would be a turning point in our relationship-a crossing of a line that once passed, we could never return from.
Taking a deep breath, I grabbed my coat and headed out into the night. The campus was quiet, the usual hum of student life reduced to a faint murmur as I made my way toward the meeting place Dominic had chosen-the old, abandoned chapel on the outskirts of the university grounds.
The chapel was a relic from a bygone era, its stone walls covered in ivy, its stained-glass windows cracked and faded. It had been out of use for years, left to decay in the shadows, but tonight, it would be the setting for whatever Dominic had planned.
As I approached the chapel, my heart pounded in my chest, each step heavier than the last. The door creaked open with a groan, revealing the dark interior lit only by the soft glow of candles placed strategically around the room. The flickering light cast long shadows, creating an atmosphere that was both eerie and intimate.
Dominic was waiting for me, standing near the altar, his back to the door. The sight of him, tall and imposing in the dim light, sent a shiver down my spine. There was something about the way he stood, so still, so composed, that made me hesitate.
But I didn't turn back. I couldn't. Not now.
As I stepped inside, the door closed behind me with a soft thud, sealing us in together. The sound echoed through the empty chapel, amplifying the tension that crackled in the air between us.
Dominic turned to face me, his eyes dark and intense as they locked onto mine. For a moment, neither of us spoke, the silence heavy with unspoken words.
"You came," he said finally, his voice low, a hint of something like relief in his tone.
"I told you I would," I replied, my voice steady despite the nervous fluttering in my stomach.
He nodded, his gaze never leaving mine. "I wasn't sure if you would," he admitted, taking a step closer. "After everything that's happened... I wasn't sure if you'd trust me enough to come."
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding as he closed the distance between us. "I'm here, aren't I?"
He stopped in front of me, so close that I could feel the heat radiating from his body, could hear the steady rhythm of his breathing. His presence was overwhelming, suffocating in its intensity, but I didn't back away. I couldn't.
"I don't want you to be afraid of me, Evelyn," he murmured, his hand coming up to cup my face. His touch was gentle, almost reverent, as his thumb brushed lightly over my cheek. "But I need you to understand something... what happens tonight, it changes everything."
