Chapter 23: The Burning Passion

Ryota and Kokabiel stood at a standstill for a few seconds.

Ryota then used his flames and made one chant with one single word.

Ryota: Kojin.

In a matter of a few seconds, a blade was formed. It wasn't as big as a sword, but bigger than the largest knife, a dagger. Not one, but two.

Ryota had forged a pair of daggers purely made of fire.

Rias: Are those blades of fire?

Ryota said nothing and ran towards Kokabiel. And the tall fallen angel seemed unimpressed.

Kokabiel: You must be joking, right? Your move is so predictable.

Kokabiel raised his light sword in the air. He prepared to strike Ryota.

However, Ryota spun his body to the right, where the light sword was and seemingly ran past Kokabiel, catching him off guard.

Kokabiel: Huh?

Ryota then quickly used his flaming daggers and stabbed Kokabiel in his left. He screamed in pain.

Kokabiel: DAMN IT!

Kokabiel used his wings and swatted at Ryota, sending him away. Ryota flew for a moment, but he landed on his feet and regained his balance quickly.

Kokabiel: You actually stabbed me. Who do you think you are you-

Kokabiel wasted time to see that Ryota went back to running at him. Ryota was fast, and he landed a hard hit to Kokabiel's gut.

The force of the punch actually sent Kokabiel to lose his balance and fly back a bit. He landed on his bottom. He grabbed a hold of his stomach as if he was shocked. Everyone was.

Akeno: He knocked him down!

Issei: How the hell did he do that?!

Ddraig: The Pawn must've likely punched Kokabiel's soul.

Issei: Huh?

Ddraig: It is said since ages ago that sorcerers could even strike the soul of their opponents. Martial Arts is one of the most pivotal aspects of jujutsu sorcery.

Kokabiel: You actually punched me, I could feel it in my soul.

Ryota: That's why it's called a Soul Punch; now you gonna keep fighting are you gonna cry like a little bitch?

Ryota snickered at a seething Kokabiel. The fallen angel snarled out of anger and stood up.

He spread his wings out and soared high into the air, flying upwards. He unleashed a magic circle and fired numerous light spears at Ryota. Rias turned to him, she screamed his name with panic in her voice.

Rias: Ryota!

Ryota's response back was a grin and he created his flaming daggers once again. He looked up at the spears coming at him at the sky.

He used a dagger and deflected one spear, then another and a third one.

One spear managed to gash Ryota's neck on the side. But all the other spears were deflected. His neck began to bleed, and his palms heated up.

Ryota gently pressed his fingers to his wound and slowly began to move them across the gash on his neck, and the wound eventually went away.

Kiba: Did he heal his own wound?

Akeno: That must've been what Ryota was talking about when he was fighting Riser during the engagement party. The Reverse Curse Technique!

Ryota narrowed his eyes at Kokabiel and ran again at him. Kokabiel unleashed another barrage of spears at the young man.
