Son of a Legend

Part 7: The Tree of Life

(Yes, I was too lazy to write about the journey. Just assume everything that happened in the show happens in the journey, but with Mkali's guard and not Kion's.)
2 months later...
The entire guard is skinny now as they have had a very hard time finding food on their journey.
"C'mon, guys! We're almost there!" Mkali encourages his exhausted crew. "The Tree of Life is just on the other side of this pass, right Kushona?" Mkali asks his keenest of sight.
"Yep. I can't wait to get there and get some food!" Kushona says, eager to reach their destination. The crew starts walking through the mountain pass. Mkali gives them a hand signal, meaning to stop. The guard does as Mkali instructs. "Do you guys hear that?" Mkali asks his crew. They all listen in closely. The sound that they are hearing is rocks shifting.
"ROCK SLIDE!!" Kushona shouts.
"EVERYONE, RUN!!" Mkali yells at his crew. They all run and get out of the way of the rockslide. All except for one.
Koda's leg gets caught under one of the rocks. "AAAUUUGGGHH!!" He screams in pain.
"Koda!!" Kasi screams. She runs over to him.
"My leg is broken!" Koda yells in pain.
"Alright, minor setback. We're going to clear out this rock pile. Then, nothing stands between us and the Tree of Life." Mkali says. Kushona climbs to the top of the rock pile to start clearing the rocks when he sees a group of lions running towards the rock pile. "Mkali! We have a problem! There is a group of 5 lions! A lion and lioness about our parents' age, and 2 lions and a lioness our age!" Kushona tells his leader.
Mkali sighs. "Good eye, Kushona! New plan. You two, keep clearing the rocks away. Kushona and I will deal with the lions." The two lionesses nod. Mkali runs up to the top of the rock pile.
"I hope we can do this peacefully." Kushona says.
"Me too." Mkali replies.
The lions all charge up the rock pile, and all but one of the younger lions stop.
"Hello, we co -" Mkali starts, but the lion who didn't stop charging punches him in the face, making Mkali tumble down the rock pile.
"Tamaa, no!" The older lioness yells.
Mkali gets up after he tumbles down. He feels blood running down his face from his nose. Mkali starts to laugh. "You guys are in for it now!" Mkali says as he gets a phycopathic look in his eyes. The lion known as "Tamaa" runs down the rock pile, along with the older lion. Mkali dodges out of the way of Tamaa's punch, and he kicks him in the head. He then turns and stabs the older lion in the kidney, then slashes him in the chest, knocking him out of the fight.
"Baliyo!" The older lioness shouts, she runs down to check on him. Mkali sees Kushona tumble down the rock pile, unconscious. The other two lions come down to fight the Mkali. Tamaa gets up and gets ready to fight. Mkali is outnumbered 3 to 1. He smiles because he likes these odds. Tamaa charges at Mkali, but Mkali claws Tamaa in the face. The other lion punches at Mkali, but Mkali grabs the fist, then he ducks under his arm and drives his forearm into the lions elbow, breaking the lion's arm.
"Simko!" The lioness cries. The lioness runs and lands a good series of hits on Mkali, who is now bleeding on his face. Mkali kicks the lioness into the side of the pass. Tamaa charges at Mkali from behind, but Mkali turns around and tackles Tamaa and starts to punch him repeatedly in the face.
"Guys! Get me out from under here! We need to calm Mkali down!" Koda cries.
Mkali is about to land the final blow on Tamaa when Tamaa lands a low blow on Mkali, allowing Tamaa enough time to stand up. Mkali gets more angry, and he stands up quickly and unleashes the roar on Tamaa, sending him flying back to the Tree of Life. Mkali then collapses out of exhaustion, snapping him out of his rampage. Misuli runs over to Mkali.
"Please tell me... I didn't do... what I think I just did." Mkali begs.
"I wish I could." Misuli replies.
Suddenly, the younger lioness that Mkali was fighting tackles Mkali, then unsheaths her claws. Mkali covers up.
"Taji!" The older lioness yelled. "That's enough! Let him up!"
"But mom!" Taji yells to the older lioness. She receives a stern look from her mother. "Yes, mother." She sighs. The older lioness comes over and helps Mkali up. Mkali sees now that this lioness has queen markings on her forehead.
"You've grown up so much, Mkali!" The queen says, going in for a hug.
"Umm, how do I know you exactly?" Mkali asks, still panting.
"I'm Rani, queen of the Tree of Life. I helped to deliver you and your sister." The queen informs the curious Mkali.
"Wait, let me get this straight. He hurt Uncle Baliyo, broke Simko's arm, and beat Tamaa within an inch of his life, and you're just going to welcome him into the Tree of Life with open arms?" Taji asks.
"Yeah, I should probably apologize for that. I haven't been myself lately." Mkali says.
"Does it have anything to do with that scar on your face?" Rani asks.
"Yeah." Mkali sighs.
"Well, come on in to the Tree of Life, and we'll get that healed." Rani puts an arm around Mkali.
"What about the rest of my team?" Mkali says, looking around and seeing  Kushona still unconscious, and Koda's legs still trapped under the rocks.
"Oh, of course! They're welcome, too."  The Night Pride helps Kasi to get Koda's leg free. Mkali goes over to Baliyo and helps him up.
"Sorry for hurting you. I'm not myself right now." Mkali says to the lion.
Baliyo laughs. "It's alright. You're definitely Kion's son." Mkali lights up at the compliment. "How are your parents, by the way?" Baliyo asks.
"Oh, umm... they're good." Mkali lies.
"Glad to hear it." Baliyo says.
Mkali looks back to see that the rock pile has been cleared, Kasi is helping Koda to walk, and Kushona is starting to regain consciousness.
Tamaa comes walking back through the pass. He walks over to Mkali, but Rani stops him.
"This is why I tell you to never charge blindly into battle." She scolds.
"Yes, mom." Tamaa responds.
"Now that everyone is ready, let's go to the Tree of Life!" Rani states. Everyone follows her lead. They walk for about 10 minutes.
"Lion Guard. Welcome to the Tree of Life!" Rani exclaims. Mkali lays his eyes on some of the most beautiful landscapes he has ever seen.
