The following morning, Eleanor slipped out of the house while Marcus was still asleep. She made her way to Margaret's small cottage. As she knocked on the door, she felt a mix of hope and trepidation.
Margaret answered the door, her face etched with wrinkles and her eyes filled with gentle wisdom. "Eleanor, my dear. What brings you here?"
Eleanor explained her situation, her voice trembling slightly. "Margaret, I need your help. My daughter, Valerie, wants to study psychology, but my husband won't let her."
Margaret nodded sympathetically. "I see. And what do you want me to do?"
Eleanor hesitated. "I don't know. Perhaps you could give me some advice. Or maybe you could help me find someone who can help Valerie."
Margaret smiled. "Of course, I can help you. I know a man who might be able to assist you. His name is Mr. Harper, and he's a professor at the local university. He's a kind and understanding man, and he may be willing to help Valerie."
Eleanor's eyes lit up with hope. "That would be wonderful. Thank you, Margaret."
As Eleanor went to Margaret's cottage, Valerie was cleaning the kitchen. She couldn't help but overhear her father, Marcus, speaking on the phone in his study. His voice was low and menacing, his words barely audible.
"I need someone who is strong, fierce, dominant," Marcus was saying. "Someone who won't put up with her nonsense."
Valerie's heart pounded in her chest. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Marcus was planning to find a husband for her, and it sounded like he was looking for someone cruel. She knew that whatever Marcus had in mind, it couldn't be good.
With trembling hands, Valerie slipped away from the kitchen and headed to her room.
As Valerie already went to her room,
Marcus paced the floor of his study, his hands clenched into fists. He had been searching for a suitable husband for Valerie for weeks, but it was proving to be more difficult than he had anticipated. He needed someone who would control Valerie, someone who would put her in her place. His frustration with Valerie was growing by the day. She was becoming increasingly rebellious, challenging his authority at every turn. He couldn't stand to see her defying him, flaunting her independence. He needed to find a man who could break her spirit, a man who would make her submissive.
At Valerie's room, she sat on the edge of her bed, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't believe what she had heard. Her father, Marcus was planning to sell her off to some cruel man. The thought of being forced into a loveless marriage filled her with dread.
She remembered the day her cousin sister had been married off to a mafia lord who had a connection with her father Marcus.
The horror of that day still haunted her. She had watched as her sister was taken away, her face filled with fear. Now, it was her turn.
Valerie's hands trembled as she tried to calm herself. She couldn't let Marcus control her life. She had to find a way to escape.
As she lay in bed that night, Valerie couldn't sleep. She was filled with a sense of hopelessness. She felt trapped, powerless to change her fate. She was just a pawn in her father's game, a mere object to be bartered away.
But She knew she couldn't sit idly by and let Marcus control her fate. She had to find a way to escape.
Suddenly, an idea struck her. She remembered the hidden library where she had spent so much time. Perhaps there was something in there that could help her.
The next morning, Valerie slipped out of the house while Marcus was still asleep. She made her way to the library, her heart pounding with excitement.
As she searched through the shelves, she stumbled upon a book that caught her attention. It was a biography of a famous psychologist, a woman who had overcome great adversity to achieve her goals.
Valerie was immediately drawn to the woman's story. She read the book with bated breath, her heart aching with empathy for the psychologist's struggles. The woman had faced many challenges in her life, including an oppressive father who had tried to control her destiny. But she had never given up on her dreams. She had fought for what she believed in, and she had ultimately triumphed.
Inspired by the woman's story, Valerie felt a surge of determination. She knew she could do it too. She could break free from her father's oppressive grip and pursue her dreams.
As she continued to read, Valerie came across a section of the book that particularly resonated with her. The psychologist had written about the importance of finding a mentor, someone who could guide and support her on her journey.
Valerie decided to follow the psychologist's advice. She began to search for a mentor, someone who could help her navigate the challenges she was facing. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to find someone who could support her.
How was the chapter? Can Valerie find a mentor to support her dreams? Or will she be married to a cruel man against her wish?
