As the week off work continued, Uno and Denise, along with their pets, are bored in their manor.
Usually, the four would be in their living quarters in North Heathson's Swindon Agency Manor HQ. But today, they were barred from entering since they have to go easy on work.
Uno and Denise were sprawled out on the plush living room sofa of their manor, visibly bored as the seconds ticked by. Thomas the pug was snoring gently on Uno's lap, while Haley, Denise's cat, lazily batted at a loose thread on the couch. Usually, this kind of downtime would be a luxury, but after being told to take a break from their hectic spy life, Uno and Denise were feeling restless.
Denise glanced at Uno, who was staring at his phone with an almost pleading expression. She rolled onto her stomach and grabbed her sketchbook, deciding to pass the time with some doodles. With a smirk, she started drawing something cheeky, her pencil strokes quick and deliberate.
"I'm bored out of my mind, Uno. We're not made for sitting around," Denise sighed, half-jokingly sketching a little caricature of herself clinging to a cartoon version of Uno, complete with exaggerated blush marks and suggestive poses. She added a playful caption beneath it: "Denise: Uno's personal girl toy."
Denise burst into a fit of giggles, her cheeks flushing as she admired her handiwork. "I should frame this-what do you think?"
Uno, half-distracted by the phone call he was making, glanced over and chuckled. "You're incorrigible, Denise."
With a quick breath, Uno finally got Arthur, the director of North Heathson's Swindon branch, on the line. "Arthur! It's Uno. Listen, mate, I've got a serious problem."
Arthur's voice was stern but warm, the way it always was when he dealt with Uno. "Agent Frost, you've got to take it easy. You and Starlight have been pushing yourselves nonstop. This time off is mandatory."
Uno sighed, rubbing his temples. "Arthur, you know me. Sitting around doing nothing is driving us crazy. We're not cut out for this domestic bliss twenty-four-seven."
Arthur's tone was firm. "You're on mandatory rest. Doctor's orders, remember? Your health comes first, especially with Starlight expecting. I don't care if you're bored; you're staying put."
Denise, still amused by her drawing, leaned closer to Uno, trying to overhear the conversation. She waved her sketch at him, trying to get his attention, but Uno was too focused on convincing Arthur.
"Arthur, come on. Even a light mission, something easy. We'll take it slow, I promise," Uno pleaded, his voice a mix of frustration and desperation. "We're not asking to storm a fortress, just... give us something. Anything."
Arthur sighed on the other end. "Agent Frost, you and Starlight are head spies because you know how to follow orders. And right now, the order is rest. I'm sorry, but that's final."
Uno let out a long breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Yeah, I get it. But don't blame me when you hear that we've gone stir-crazy."
Arthur laughed, clearly enjoying Uno's discomfort a little too much. "Enjoy the peace while you can. We'll need you sharp when you're back." The line went dead, leaving Uno staring at his phone in defeat.
Denise, amused by the whole exchange, suddenly set her sketchbook aside, lying back on the couch and stretching. "He shot you down, huh?"
Uno nodded, tossing his phone on the coffee table. "Completely. Says we're under doctor's orders to take it easy."
Denise shrugged, yawning as she made herself comfortable. "Well, it was worth a shot. But hey, now we've got all this free time to... I don't know, doodle our fantasies?"
