The pen glided over the paper, its ink tracing out the last of the words. The young prince paused, the silence in the room broken by the soft voice of the boy standing nearby. "Your Highness, is this the final letter to be sent before your departure?" Jungwon asked, his eyes flicking over the neatly stacked letters on the table.
Sunoo set down his pen, lifting the letter to examine it. "No, I'll deliver myself. You can go ahead, Jungwon."
Without another question, Jungwon gathered the letters marked with the royal seal and left the room. Sunoo leaned back in his chair, his gaze drifting to the window where the moon was, pale and beautiful. "When I leave, may the moon accompany me," he murmured, "but it shall never return with me."
A faint smile touched his lips as he folded the letter with care. Rising from his chair, he walked out of his chamber.
Sunoo walked through the vast hallways of the royal castle, his posture straight, and expression warm, a polite smile gracing his lips. He paused before the entrance of the royal library, the place that was once his first school.
Pushing open the grand doors, he stepped into the library. The familiar scent of old books filled the air, the caretaker, Lady Irene, greeted him with a respectful bow. "Greetings, Your Highness. What brings you here today?"
Sunoo turned on his heels, offering her a soft smile. "Hello, Lady Irene. I just wanted to take a final look around the library. I'm not sure when the next time will be."
Irene's smile faltered as she understood the meaning behind his words. She nodded, forcing a small grin. "Of course, Your Highness. Please, take your time. And let me know if there's anything I can help you with."
"Oh?" Sunoo arched an eyebrow, taking a step closer to Irene. "Will you really help me, Lady Irene?"
