I visited my aunt on a rainy morning. The scent of fresh bread floated through the air as she served me a steaming cup of tea, her smile gentle and welcoming as always. My aunt had always been a maternal figure to me, an attentive listener and an endless source of wisdom. Sitting across from her, I finally felt ready to confide in her what had been weighing so heavily on my heart.
"Listen," I began, my voice hesitant, "I... I've left David."
She gently placed her cup on the table, her eyes sparkling with quiet tenderness as she looked at me. "Tell me, my dear. What happened?"
I took a deep breath and recounted everything, from the intimate moments David and I had shared to that painful meeting where he admitted he didn't want more than a situationship. As the words flowed, I felt my doubts resurfacing. "I don't know if I made the right decision or if I misinterpreted his intentions. And what if... it was me who was too demanding?"
She remained silent for a moment, listening to my troubles with a caring attention. Then, with the softness that characterized her, she took my hand in hers. "Margo, there are times in life when we have to make difficult choices. But always remember that love, true love, never leaves you in doubt. Genuine love is clear, it is certain. It doesn't make you feel like you're asking for too much just because you want to be fully loved."
I looked down, my thoughts still swirling, but her words were beginning to resonate within me. "But how do I know if I made the right choice?" I asked, my voice betraying my uncertainty.
She smiled gently, as if she had been waiting for this question. "My dear, the best way to know if you made the right choice is to see how you feel without that person. If you feel lighter, more at peace, even amidst the pain, then it's a sign. You deserve someone who chooses you without hesitation. Never forget that."
Her words, like seeds planted in fertile soil, began to take root in my mind. Perhaps I had truly made the right decision, even if it hurt now. My aunt continued to share with me other quotes and anecdotes about love, each imbued with the wisdom that only life experience could offer.
Then, in a burst of enthusiasm, she suggested something that made my heart beat a little faster. "What if we went on a trip, Margo? Just you, me, and maybe a few family members. A little getaway to recharge, so you can think about something else and find yourself. What do you think?"
The idea of escaping it all, even for a short time, felt like a breath of fresh air. I accepted gratefully, and a few days later, we were on our way to a tranquil destination, far from the city and my recent troubles.

The trip was soothing, a true balm for my troubled mind. But it was during a stroll in town that I had an unexpected encounter. There, on the sidewalk in front of a quaint café, I came face-to-face with Kevin. My heart skipped a beat, both surprised and unsure of what this meeting meant.
Kevin seemed different—more mature but also more tired. After a moment of astonishment, he greeted me with a nostalgic smile, and we decided to have a coffee together to talk. What followed surprised me even more.
Sitting across from him, a cup of coffee in hand, Kevin began to tell me about his life since our breakup. "I have to confess something, Margo. While we were still together, I met someone... a man." His eyes searched mine, looking for my reaction, but I remained silent, encouraging him to continue.
"It was complicated," he continued, looking down. "He's married, to a woman. But... he seduced me, and I fell in love with him. It was so exciting at first, forbidden, and he gave me things I never imagined. He's rich, very rich, and he showered me with gifts, money... But that's not enough, Margo. I'm unhappy."
