Watery sunlight filtered through the kitchen window as Aurella flicked her wand at the kettle to set it boiling. Ten years later, the flat above Flourish and Blotts was still the same with its creaky floors and brick fireplace-- floo powder above in a handy jar, of course. The only thing that had truly changed was its inhabitants.
Aurella's father had retired a few years ago, leaving the ancient wizarding bookshop to her. It was the perfect place to set up an ancient runes translation practice. She had achieved much success after her translation for Charlie and Lia, and now several Wizarding intelligence agencies approached her in hopes of having things translated.
She reached up above the stove for the jar of coffee that she knew was stashed up there. Her fingers brushed the edge of it and she huffed. Aurella was fairly convinced the sleeping man she had left in the bedroom moved it up there on purpose so she would have to ask for help.
As if she had summoned him by thinking of him, one of George's muscular arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her to him. There was a warm brush of lips against her neck and she sighed contentedly, leaning against him. With his other arm, he reached up to grab the coffee and set it down on the counter.
He turned her around and pressed her back against the counter, moving to kiss her. Aurella smiled against his mouth and kissed him back, tracing one hand back to curl in his hair at the nape of his neck.
"You have to go to work," She mumbled against his mouth.
George chuckled. "It can wait,"
Aurella snorted and planted her hands on his-- admittedly hot-- bare chest, pushing him back slightly. "If we want to have dinner with our parents tonight, then you have to go to work. Ron will be waiting."
George grumbled and pressed one kiss to her shoulder. "Fine, I'm going,"
Aurella chuckled as she turned back to her coffee. By the time it was finished and the cup steaming in front of her, George had reappeared in the kitchen, dressed in work clothes.
He pressed one final kiss to her cheek before he vanished down the stairwell, shouting "I love you," after him.
Aurella smiled to herself, taking a sip of her coffee before twisting her new wedding ring around her finger.
"Love you too," She called after him.
