Chapter Thirty-One: Telling Our Friends

We were all released the next day. It was time for another Hogsmeade trip but seeing as I had been told to take things slow for a few more days we decided not to go. We plan on telling our friends everything when they get back. Izzy and I sitting near the lake and talking.

"I can't believe it!" Izzy squeals

"I know...It's strange. I'm glad he's no longer locked up and that he's free but what if everything changes?" I ask her

"Of course it'll change! But you get to know more about your family. Maybe Uncle Sirius knows where your mother's family is from Mae. He probably has some stories you've never heard." She tells me looking down as she says her next thought. "Not to mention my dad won't be as alone anymore."

I sigh and nod. I look out at the water wondering where Sirius and Buckbeak could be right now. It'll be a few more days before Sirius could be seen in public. I'm worried about what this will mean between me and Moony. If Sirius will -My thoughts are cut off as hands cover my eyes.

"Guess who?" I hear a soft female voice giggle.

"Hey Annalise," I say with a small smile I gently pull her to sit with us. After her hands are away from my eyes I see Cedric kissing Izzy and the twins sitting on my other side. I smile at them and look down.

"Cedric stop eating Izzy's face!" Fred yells

They pull apart Izzy looking down with a blush covering her nose and cheeks. And Cedric sits next to her laughing.

"Are you guys okay?" George asks

"Yeah we were told you were injured but no one was allowed to visit you. We weren't told why." Cedric explains

"Even family wasn't allowed." Draco states sitting across from me suddenly.

"We'll tell you, but no asking questions until it's over." I tell them "It's good to know you care, cousin."

For the next two hours Izzy and I tell them all about Moony being a werewolf, us being able to be with him as animals, Sirius Black being innocent and Scabbers being Peter. (The twins loved that)

"So your dad's free now?" Draco asks

"Yeah, he's free." I tell him

"You don't seem thrilled about it." Cedric points out

"She's worried." Izzy tells him "It's been her and Remus since she was three. I came into the picture when we were what nine?" She asks me

"Yeah we were nine. I had all the Weasley's since I was at most five. But that was sleepovers once maybe twice a month. Remus is my best friend and my father figure. He's my dad in every way but by blood." I tell them

"We loved having those sleepovers!" Fred yells at the same time George yells "We need to have another sleepover!"

We all burst out laughing and move on to our summer plans.

Izzy and I were saying goodbye to Remus as he was leaving early. Dumbledore allowed us to stay and leave with the rest of the students on the Hogwarts express. We were staying where we were all year. But next year we will have to live in the dormitories with the rest of our own house.

After his carriage was out of sight we headed back inside.

Everyone for the last week of school were all talking abut how Sirius was innocent. Multiple people were pissed off he never got a real trial when they found out. It was really only the Slytherin's that had a problem. But that was a problem for next year. Izzy and I stayed in our room packing. We took our time so we didn't have to deal with everybody asking questions.

Izzy and I said goodbye to Harry, Ron and Hermione seeing as we wouldn't see them until the end of summer or beginning of next year. I said goodbye to Draco next and gave him a letter I had written for Auntie.

The twins finally introduced us to their other friends. Lee Jordan and Angela. They were very nice I was honestly surprised it had taken so long to properly meet them.

We set off to find a compartment that would fit us all plus Misty who refused to leave my side after Moony had left the school.

I had found an empty compartment before the others.

"Hey guys over here!" I called out to them before putting up my trunk. I sit next to the window and watch as my friends slowly join me.

First it's Izzy with Cedric and of course Bowie who is in her hair only visible if you know he's there. After them it's Annalise and Fred who have defiantly gotten closer over our last few weeks. And last George comes in with Angela and Lee laughing loudly at something that had happened. We all sit in silence for a few moments after the train started to move.

"Okay so I'm curious," Angela starts "Maeve now that your father is free what is going to happen?"

"I don't know." I answer her honestly with a shrug "I have lived with Remus my whole life. I don't plan on leaving him. And I don't know where Sirius plans on going or what he plans on doing."

"Oh let's move on from that." George moves the conversation onto something else. "Who here is going to the Quidditch World Cup?"

"I'm not!" Izzy and I both say. They all look at us.

"I'm sorry but I only see my mother over the summers I refuse to cut that short." Izzy tells everyone.

"I am not a huge fan of Quidditch I prefer to be on the ground or out in the woods." I tell them honestly

"Well then maybe we could get together well dad and Ced go." Annalise smiles at me I give her a smile and nod

"Dad's trying to get tickets but I don't know... It'd be a dream come true though!" Lee practically yells

"I'm not going. Well at least not that I know of." Angela tells everyone

We spend the rest of the ride talking about our other plans for summer. I can't help but think about how much my life's changed. I can't help the smile that's on my face at how my life's turned out.

I can't wait to see what happens next...
