The old man's voice trembled slightly as he continued, “Juheon gained Junho’s trust, manipulating him into believing he could safeguard his wealth. But in a moment of misguided security, Junho decided to store all his important belongings in a cave located upstairs in the old mansion. That’s when everything changed and you know rest .”
Midori's mind raced, trying to process the gravity of his words. “What do you mean, ‘what I know’?” she pressed, desperate for clarity.
“The dream you saw—it’s all true events,” he explained, his eyes darkening with memories. “Juheon killed Junho and his wife, ensuring that he could claim their fortune without any obstacles. But he couldn’t kill his daughter; I saved her. I witnessed everything happen, and in the chaos, I fled to protect her. I took her to a safe place and have been watching over her ever since, making sure she was okay.”
A chill ran down Midori’s spine as the pieces began to fall into place. The shadows of betrayal, greed, and loss enveloped the air around her. “You mean... Yuji is still alive? But where is she? What happened to her?”
The old man pulled his gaze away for a moment, a flicker of sorrow crossing his features. “Yuji is alive, I'm always looking over her shoulder. Juheon knows the potential threat she poses, and he won’t rest until he has eliminated every trace of her existence.”
Midori felt a flood of emotions—fear, anger, and a fierce determination igniting within her. “So what do we do? How can I help? I can’t just stand by knowing a little girl is still in danger!”
The old man nodded appreciatively at her resolve. “You must be careful, Midori. The ties that bind your fate to this family are strong. You need to uncover what Juheon's true intentions are and find a way to protect Yuji. But time is of the essence. You must act before he realizes that you’re onto him.”
The old man's words hung in the air, heavy with foreboding. “Juheon wants to be immortal, and he believes that you are the key to achieving that. He wants to sacrifice you under the light of the cursed night and claim the treasures hidden within the cave. You alone possess the ability to open the door to that cave, and in doing so, he believes he can unlock the ancient magic that grants immortality.”
“Sacrifice me?” Midori recoiled, her heart racing. “Why would he want to take me there? What makes me so special?”
“Because your bloodline carries the essence of the old magic—an energy that has been dormant but is awakening within you , you are Yuji , Junho's one and only daughter,” the old man explained, his voice grim. “Juheon believes that by sacrificing you, he can harness that power for himself. He knows the connection between you and the mansion, and through your blood, he thinks he can break the barriers that protect the cave.”
Midori shook her head in disbelief, panic rising within her. “But I don’t even know what that means! How can I possibly be part of this?”
“The magics that bind you to this fate run deeper than you realize,” the old man continued, urgency growing in his voice. “On this night, when the stars align, Juheon will attempt to draw you into his web. His magic is strong, and it will force you to the mansion. You must be prepared.”
" You are Junho's daughter."
