Oon sat on the coach heading back to the caves and he felt like crap, Ngusoi had driven him to the coach depot and insisted he take the crutches then after the coach driver had loaded up all the luggage including Oon's suitcase, Ngusoi had given him a warm hug and a tender kiss before telling him to take care.

He had given him what he had wanted, time and he had told him to call when he was ready but now Oon just felt desolate, why the hell had he pushed him away?

Yes he was nervous about telling Raz that he was mated to a hybrid but did that really justify how he had bitched at Ngusoi after everything he had done for him and their beautiful night together and he had managed to ruin it all in the space of a few minutes.

Ngusoi had treated him so well ever since they had met, he had taken care of him and tended his foot and he'd shown him so much love and affection then Oon had discarded him as if he was worthless ... and for what?"

Just to prove to himself that he was still the same person, that being mated hadn't changed him? Ngusoi had been right, what was so wrong about wanting to be with the person you loved.

Wolves weren't like humans who could go on vacation separately or work away from their partners for months at a time, wolves were very possessive and clingy and often suffered separation anxiety if their bonded mate was away from them for too long.

After the way he had spoken to his mate he deserved to be alone for the rest of his life and it would serve him right if Ngusoi decided that he wasn't worth the trouble. Ngusoi was the real deal, tall, handsome, wealthy and powerful, he was a go-getter, a no nonsense guy, most women wanted him and most men wanted to be him and Oon had walked, no limped away from him.

It was too late now, what had Ngusoi said ...

"just call me when you're ready to honour our bond and I'll see if I can pencil you in!"

Oon knew that Ngusoi had been angry with him and had made the comment on purpose to hurt him and it had and he had no one to blame but himself.

There was no point dwelling on it, what was done was done and Ngusoi probably wouldn't want him now anyway after he had shown him what an asshole he was. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, he may as well try to sleep.

He would get to the closest village to the caves around six and then he had to find a room, shiyaa, what if he couldn't find one? he would be limping around on his crutches while trying to pull a suitcase.

What if he made his foot bleed again, that would be all he needed ... most of the scabs had fallen off but the skin beneath was very thin and vulnerable.

Several hours later he was being shaken awake by the coach driver when the coach had reached its terminal. He thanked the driver who had already unloaded his case and then he climbed off the coach and holding both crutches in one hand he pulled the handle of his case up with the other and began to pull it.

His foot was aching a bit but as long as he was careful he should be ok.

He looked across the street and saw a convenience store so he walked towards it and went inside and after asking the person behind the counter if there was a hotel in the village they pointed him in the right direction.

It took about thirty minutes to trek to the small hotel then he went inside, it was getting late and he really needed to find a room and quick.

He went to the reception desk and pressed the call button and after a moment a young woman came to the desk and asked if she could help him.

"hi, I'm looking for a room for a few nights but I don't know how long for?"

"were pretty booked up but I'll see what we have for you Mr?" she asked him.
