'don't you know the love that you want is all the love that you needed?'

bold is sign language

friday came around quicker than jisung had anticipated and he anxiously paced his room thinking of what could happen later that day.

'what if he doesn't like me?'

'what if i mess up and he doesn't want to see me anymore?'

'what if he met someone else already?'

'what if he stands me up?'

you see, jisung had never been on a date before and he had no idea what to expect. should he bring flowers? how does he dress? should he put makeup on or is that too much? should he wear perfume? he didn't even know where they were going.

without warning, felix and changbin came bursting into his room with large smiles on their faces.

"jisungie! your date is today right?" felix asked, grabbing the boys hand and dragging him over to the bed, forcing him to sit down with him.

jisung nodded and then a fire of questions came from the two such as, "where is he taking you?", "is it formal?", "are you nervous?", "do you want help?" ect.

suddenly overwhelmed with all the questions, jisung slapped both of their arms and used sign language to tell them to both shut up and let him explain.

the boy liked to use sign language because talking was extremely difficult for him.

"i don't know where we're going, he never told me, he just told me to meet him at his workplace at 5pm." he sighed,
exasperatedly and fell back on the bed.

"well, he didn't say it was formal and i think he would tell you to dress nicely if it was, so we can assume it's casual and help you with what to wear." changbin inputted and felix agreed, happily standing up and running over to the wardrobe, flinging it open and immediately sorting through the clothes.

"okay then," changbin laughed and jisung let out a giggle with him, "do you need help with anything else?" the oldest asked.

"should i bring flowers or is that too much?" jisung signed.

"maybe bring him some flowers from work, but only a small bouquet, you don't want to go overboard and scare him off." the boy patted his shoulder in reassurance and was about to say something else before felix ran over with an outfit and told him to try it on.

jisung went into the bathroom and put the outfit on.

he wore light blue jeans with a baby pink sweater, a little quokka keychain with a pink bow in its hair hung from the belt loops and felix had incorporated a black bucket hat to match with his black converse.

jisung checked himself out in the mirror. felix really knew how to make him look cute.

when he left the bathroom, he was surrounded by his friends squeals and compliments. chan had since joined them and coddled jisung just as much as the others.

"ahh, you look so cute!" felix exclaimed, "i really have an eye for fashion." he beamed and jisung just smiled and lightly shook his head.

"your dates at five right?" changbin asked and the other nodded his head, "you should go now, it's 4:30." he stated, showing jisung his phone screen.

jisung scrambled to get his things and packed a small cross body bag, slinging it onto his shoulder.

he was about to leave before he turned around abruptly.

"will i have enough time to pick up some flowers?" he signed.

"of course, and remember, only a small bouquet." changbin replied.

jisung bowed a thank you to his friends before rushing out the door. he really didn't want to be late for his first date with minho. he really liked the boy so far, even though they'd only met once.

he quickly walked down the street from his apartment towards the little flower shop he worked at.

he loved working there, he loved taking care of all the flowers and making pretty bouquets for people. it was truly his dream to open his own flower shop, but with his limited means of communication, he was very quickly giving up on that dream. his friends kept it as alive as they could, however.

he opened the small green door, the familiar twinkle of the wind chime outside gave him slight comfort as he was in a place he knew very well.

walking up the front desk, an old man greeted him and told him that whatever he needed he could feel free to take from the back. jisung bowed a thank you.

with quick hands, the boy picked out the best flowers that fitted together perfectly to encapsulate all that he thought minho would like. he wrapped it in a blue tinted transparent film with a darker blue ribbon wrapped around it.

he checked the time. 4:50. he was going to be late.

he panicked and almost bolted out the door.

he had no chance of running in his current attire and didn't want to risk falling and ruining the flowers so he settled on walking at a quick pace whilst consistently looking at the phone to see if he was late.

the hour was creeping up on him and he could feel himself starting to panic.

what would minho think of him when he shows up late? what if he shows up looking ugly because he was rushing? minho wouldn't want to date him? minho deserves someone who always looks put together, is never late and can talking properly, for goodness sake.

he couldn't even do the simple thing of talking.

he felt so pathetic.

tears welled in his eyes and by the time he reached the parlour, he was late. by three minutes.
