Chapter 13: manipulation (an attempt at it)

I just realised that this is the name of one of my fav BFDI pibby songs 'manipulation'!
(I'll put a link to it in the comment section,at some point, it's rlly good!)

'say, tennissy? Are you sure your relationship with bossy bot golf ball is, as she says, "platonic"?' Pencil smirked.
'uhhm, well, I. uhhh.' Tennis ball began to sweat. 'why is your arm still dark blue?'
'Dont try to change the subject tennis ball.'

Book pointed at something outside. 'LOOK!'
It was golf ball.
'Let's hope this works!' Tennis ball says as nervously steps out the supervan.
Golf ball immediately went for tennis ball, he quickly outstretched his leg to prevent her from getting near.
'Golfie, please it's tb, are you there?'
...
Golf ball stepped back a few steps.
That's promising, Tennis ball thought. However, before he could even blink, golf ball charged at him and knocked him onto the floor.
'AAAAA!!'
Grassy ran over and picked up golf ball, 'Grassy's got it!' Grassy cheered.
Golf ball did NOT appreciate being held, she bit down hard on grassy.
'OWCHIE!'
Snowball felt enraged, but he was still a pile of snow.
'LEAVE HIM ALONE!' snowball shouted as he fell off Grassy's head. 'oof.'
Golf ball wasn't letting go, Grassy was panicking like crazy.
Chaos.

Pencil was getting tired of it, so she simply picked up golf ball and kicked her upwards.
Everyone just stared at her.
'What?'
Still staring.
She just got back in the van.

'woah! Here she comes!' Ruby shouted running around to try and catch GB.
Book and needle did the same.
While match just...
Well...

Watched.

In the freesmart supervan:

Pssst! Hey! Pencil! It's me!
Pencil turned.
'I actually hate you.' she saw the red creature floating in front of her.
Why is that, I wonder...
'Shut it.'
I know what you want.
'what?'
You want to be in control? Correct?
'i mean, in control of my team, yeah.'
You want to be a respected leader.
'i already am tho... Aren't I?'
Nah, you aren't harsh enough anymore, but I can take care of that!
'No.'
YES.
'i am not falling for your tricks again. No.'
Do you want me to go to extremes?!
'well, no. But making me kill my allies is already extreme enough!'
Enough!

Everyone heard a scream.
'Pencil, you okay?' bubble and match peered into the van, they gasped.
Her eye patch was gone and her crack seemed to be a lot worse.
'what the floof, like, happened?!'
Pencil ignored her.
'uhh, pencil, are you? You know?' Bubble stepped forward cautiously.
Pencil snapped out of her shock.
'no. I'm fine bubble.' she waved her hand dismissively.
Match could tell her bestie was struggling, she couldn't just stand there and listen to her lie like that.
'Bubble.' Match whispered to her
'yeah?'
'can I, like, talk to pence pence in private? please?'
'okay.' Bubble walked out the supervan.
   'I can tell your, like, not okay pencil. Seriously. What happened?'
Pencil looked at match, she saw how determined she was to make sure she was okay, she smiled a little.
'so?'
Pencil explained everything that happened.
From the scene you have already read, to this scene:

Enough!
The creature went for pencil, pencil barely dodged it in time.
To her absolute shock, it plummeted into the back of her and then smashed its fist into her eye patch, causing a scream of pain.
Her eye patch fell off and her crack under it looked bigger.
That eye is now screwed.
She actually felt her body freeze up in fear, she was cornered.
She shook, she thought this was the end.
She gave up.
She's in pain already anyway.

Then bubble and match's footsteps forced the monster to flee.

Match just stared on in absolute disgust, why? Why cause more pain?
Pencil was shaking again.
Match hugged her bff tightly.
'how about I, like, stay here?'
She thought she heard pencil whimper, in response she patted her back reassuringly.

'guys, it didn't work! Now Book is...' Tennis ball saw match comforting pencil and thought that, he shouldn't stress them right now.

Yeah sorry, it was mostly pencil being scared 😅
