ꨄ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟖: 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 ✩

~ the next day | at y/n's work place ~

„... and here you go. that will be £3.99 please", I nicely say to the customer, taking the money she hands me. „have a nice day!"
the customer thanks me and sits down.

Today's day is not really the busiest. while yes, we get a mop of customers storming in at once but for the most part, it's a chill day. which also leaves me less stressed.
I take the time of less busy hours to clean up a little bit so I take some wipes and I clean the counter and the surroundings a bit. „much better!"
while I was in the middle of cleaning, my coworker David walked up to me. whenever he approaches me, it means no good since I know he's trying to hit on me- and he can't take the fucking hint that I'm not interested...

„you're doing a good job cleaning y/n", David says with a sarcastic tone in his voice. his arms crossed in front of his chest.
„well someone needs to do it and while I'm here, I figured why not", I say sarcastically back, not giving him a look.
silence filled the room for a while. didn't mind it even.
„uh, y/n... I've been meaning to ask you something", David began to say, clearing his throat. „THERE WE GO..."

„what is it David?", I finally look up at him.
„um... well you see there is this new pub that just opened down the street and uh- I was wondering if you'd like to go grab some drinks with me after work tonight? I heard they also have like a real sick dance floor too", David says, his cheeks turning a little red.
„sorry David, I can't. I'll be busy tonight", I decline his offer, shrugging.
„oh- what exactly will you be doing?", he asks.
„I'll be hanging out with some friends after work, sorry", I say while I continue on cleaning.
„ok, well, can't you just make an exception for tonight"?, David keeps pushing.
„nope. Sorry", I coldly say.
„oh come on y/n! What could possibly be more important than hanging out with one of your dearest coworkers hm? look, you're so stuck in your „day to day routine", you always see the same goddamn people, you always hang with the same goddamn people and I think it's best you catch a little break and... hang out with other people", David says, trying to convince me otherwise.
At this point I have just had enough..
„ okay, who are you to tell me that „I need to get out of my day to day routine"? And so what? Yeah-I always hang with the same people but is that a crime? My life is perfect the way it is and I very much love my routines, schedules and plans. and if you can't accept a simple „no sorry" then that's a YOU problem", I rolled my eyes at David, turning away from him.
„okay. whatever. but- let me know when you change your mind girly pop", he says in a sarcastic tone, finally leaving me alone. He's unbearable...

~ AFTER WORK ~

tonight I'm gonna be invited to yet another lovejoy show! Will invited me yesterday and I've been looking forward all day for this. We agreed to meet at the venue so he's waiting for me outside the backstage door. And to think that Will said that I'm part of lovejoy now, it's a great feeling! I'm excited for tonight's show!

it takes me a while but eventually I'm here and once I reached the backstage area, I can see Will already waiting for me! and just by seeing him, my heart starts to formally jump out of my chest- but I keep my cool.
„Hey Will!", I greet him as I walk up to him!
„Y/N!", he smiles bright and we fall into a big hug! „How are you girl?"
„now that I see you, I feel amazing", I say, laughing.
„oh stop it! you look stunning btw", he compliments me, still smiling.
„Thank you! I can say the same about you!", giving the compliment back.
„Thank you so much! wanna go inside?", he says and I agree.

we walk into the big backstage area where everyone else is waiting too, either warming up or chatting with other people. upon seeing me, everyone greets me and I greet them back.
„You look gorgeous girl", Leandra says, smiling.
„thank youuuu! so do you", I say back to which she smiles.
Will and i decided to take a seat on a sofa and we started chatting away; catching the other one up about what has happened today in the other one's day and so on. I told him obviously all the stuff that's happened with my coworker David cuz this has bothered me.

„hey, mark!, Joe whispers to mark.
„what?", mark whispers back.
„look! don't you think there's some tension going on between Will and y/n?", Joe keeps whispering, pointing at me and Will who happened to sit very closely next to each other, keeping direct eye contact.
„oh yeah man, it's impossible not to feel it", Joe says, smirking.
„such lovebirds. I'd actually be so happy if you know, Will ends up being finally taken", mark says, still looking at us.
„after all, I feel like y/n treats him so well and she makes him very happy. I wouldn't be surprised if by tomorrow or something they're official", Joe jokes around.
„wanna bet?", mark offers.
„take me up for that bet", Joe laughs.
In the meantime I haven't even clocked the fact that they've been talking about us. I just had a nice chat with Will.

~ a while later ~

ITS SHOWTIME!! Lovejoy is set go to on stage and I'm again able to watch from backstage.
Everyone goes one by one on stage while Will enters last. and the crowd goes wild. immediately after they hit it off with a classic song „One Day"!
I'm as usual vibing backstage, singing along to every song, dancing and having a good time.
watching Will, and everyone in lovejoy perform is an incredible feeling and i couldn't be more proud of them.

they again take a small break halfway through the show, letting the fans chant for one more song, as they quickly go backstage.
„you guys rock this!", I yell out in excitement, clapping!
„Aww thank you so much! thank you for cheering us on", Will says back, giving me a quick hug before they make their way back onstage.
the crowd again goes wild when everyone walks back on stage, continuing with their song „Call Me What You Like".
again I'm dancing, vibing and singing along, enjoying myself.
Lovejoy performs a few more songs, until they end with the song „The Fall" and Will thanking everyone for coming to see them. he says his thank you's and goodnight's, handing out the setlist to one fan, and everyone walks backstage. everyone leaving as well.

Once everyone is backstage, I made sure to go around and hug everyone, saying my congratulations to everyone and hyping them up for yet another banger performance. everyone is smiling, taking a sip from their drinks.

„You guys were incredible! Phenomenal job! the crowd went so wild", I say, taking a sip from my coke.
„aww mate thank you so much! I as well think we nailed this", mark says with a smile.
„we definitely did boys! Good job", Joe says as he takes a massive sip from his beer.
„We did phenomenal boys!", Will says who sits down on the sofa.
We chat away for a little bit before we decided to head out. I was about to open the door when Will stopped me.
„Y/n! Wait!", he said.
„Yes Will?", I turn around to him.
„Do you have any specific plans for tomorrow?", he asks me, smiling at me.
„I don't so, why's that?", I ask him.
„well do you wanna hang at my place tomorrow? I've been working on some new songs for lovejoy as well and I'd like you to hear them", he says, to which I nod my head in agreement. „Fantastic!"

We all exit the door and head into our directions. the night is pretty chilly but thankfully I'll be home soon.
Once home, I take a quick shower, change into my pj's, make myself something to eat and potentially watch some tv before bed.
In the meantime, Will also keeps texting me about tomorrow and how he keeps thanking me for coming to yet again watch him. he's so sweet and just by him texting me, it melts my heart even more. How do I tell him I really like him?

after texting with Will for a bit, I'm off to bed. After all, I'll be seeing him tomorrow again. Slowly I'm drifting off to sleep, excited for what's gonna happen tomorrow.
