The first day of high school was supposed to be exciting, but Rory was more nervous than anything. She was jolted awake by Katrina, who burst into her room, brimming with energy.

"Rory! Are you excited to be a freshman? You're going to have your first boyfriend and everything! It's going to be so fetch, we'll finally be at the same school!" Katrina exclaimed, bouncing on the edge of Rory's bed.

Rory, still half-asleep, squinted at her. "Wait, what's 'fetch'?"

Katrina blinked at her, then rolled her eyes. "Seriously, Rory? It's basic vocabulary. Anyway, I'm picking out your outfit."

Rory groaned and buried her face in the pillow. She was never a morning person. Sometimes she wondered if her parents had cursed her by naming her Aurora, like the sleeping beauty who could sleep for a hundred years. She didn't particularly like her name, so she was glad everyone called her Rory.

Katrina dashed out of the room, excitedly planning Rory's outfit. Meanwhile, Rory reluctantly got up and went to her vanity, starting her usual light makeup routine. Just a bit of concealer to cover up any traces of sleepiness, a touch of blush, and mascara. She brushed her long brown hair until it was smooth and straight, something she took quiet pride in.

Katrina returned, holding up a short denim mini skirt and a baby pink crop top. Rory stared at the outfit, her eyebrows shooting up.

"You want me to wear that? Isn't it a bit much for school? Seriously I'm gonna look like a slut" Rory protested.

Katrina waved off her concerns. "You'll look great, trust me. I wear that 24/7, besides, it's your first day of high school! You have to make an impression."

Rory sighed, giving in. "Alright, but I'm wearing my regular underwear." eyeing the small fabric her sister had also chosen for her.

Katrina gave her a pointed look. "Rory, no. It's time you start wearing something that actually fits with this kind of outfit. You know... a thong."

Rory's eyes widened. "A thong? Are you serious? I've never worn one before!" Her face scrunched up at the thought of the small fabric stuck in her ass.

Katrina smirked. "Exactly. It's about time you tried. Trust me, once you get used to it, you won't go back."

Feeling awkward, Rory hesitated. The thought of wearing a thong was definitely weird, and she couldn't imagine being comfortable in it. But Katrina was always the fashion expert, and Rory didn't want to seem like a kid.

"Fine," Rory muttered, rolling her eyes. "If you say so."

Katrina beamed and handed her a new, neatly folded thong. It was pink. Rory stared at it for a moment before going to the bathroom to change. The sensation of the thong was, as she expected, strange and uncomfortable. She adjusted it awkwardly several times before deciding she'd just have to get used to it. She then put on the rest of the outfit, the skirt sitting low on her hips, with the hemline just barely acceptable for school.

When Rory stepped out of the bathroom, Katrina gasped with delight. "Oh my God! You look amazing! You're going to be the most popular freshman, especially with me as your sister!"

Rory looked in the mirror, noticing the thong peeking out from the sides and back of the skirt. "Uh, Trina, is this supposed to be showing like that?"

Katrina grinned. "Yeah, don't worry about it. It's kind of the style. Plus, it drives the boys nuts."

Rory frowned, still unsure about the whole thing, but nodded. "If you say so..."

They both headed downstairs to the kitchen, where their mom, Rachel, was already up, dressed in her pink Juicy Couture tracksuit, as usual. Rachel was the kind of mom who acted more like a friend, always trying to stay young and trendy.

"Morning, girls! Wow, sweetie you've really grown into a young woman !" Rachel said, handing them both green smoothies.

"Mom, please stop" Rory mumbled, taking the smoothie. She wasn't thrilled about the outfit, but the compliment eased her nerves a bit.

"You ready for your first day?" Rachel asked, watching Rory closely.

"As ready as I'll ever be," Rory replied, sipping the smoothie. The smoothie tasted even weirder than usual.

"Mom, what did you put in here this time?" Rory asked, eyeing the glass suspiciously.

Rachel smiled proudly. "Oh, just the usual—kale, spinach, a banana for sweetness, and an egg!"

"An egg?" Rory looked horrified. "Why on earth would you put an egg in a smoothie?"

Rachel shrugged, unfazed. "I read on Facebook that it's good for your hair, or was it your skin? Maybe your boobs? Anyway, it's good for something, so drink up!"

Rory stared at her mom, wondering what exactly her mom always had with these Facebook tips, but decided not to argue. She quickly gulped down the rest of the smoothie, trying not to think too much about what was in it.

Katrina eyed Rory's shoes—her favorite pair of beat-up Converse, which were clearly not part of Katrina's vision. "You're really going to wear those?"

"Yep," Rory said firmly. "They're my favorite."

Katrina sighed but didn't argue. "Fine, let's go. We don't want to be late."

The sisters headed out to Katrina's car, a shiny silver convertible. Rory climbed into the passenger seat, her nerves mixed with a hint of excitement as they pulled out of the driveway. Katrina turned up the music, and "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton played as they drove off, marking the beginning of Rory's high school journey.
