What Did We Do...

Chapter 9

Sonic and Shadow rummaged around a little more, finding loose papers and files while Silver kept carrying their new "friend" on his back. Once they get back to the room with the giant screen on the brown hedgehog we found. Sonic groaned and put his hands up over his head.

Sonic *angrily groans*: Still can't believe those chickens did all this and just left their only success behind.

Shadow: As much as it says in these files on how great he is. With how G.U.N like to show up and attack, I wouldn't be surprised if they just forgot. Or, maybe better in this kids case, were shot dead when spotted.

Shadow pulls out a flash drive from his glove and sticks it into the computer. The drive downloads everything from the computer to it. Once done, Shadow grads it again and sticks it back in his glove.

Shadow*Looks over to Silver*: Silver, I know you need data to give back to Tia, but...

Silver: I know. But the flash is an easy thing to hide. How do we hide him?

Silver makes a gesture to the hedgehog on his back. Sonic steps over and gives Silver a reassuring smile.

Sonic: We'll figure something out. *snaps his fingers as an idea pops in his brain* Maybe we can ask our friends to help sneak him into the base.

Sonic and Silver looked at Shadow to make sure he approved of that idea. Shadow closes his eyes to think for a moment then nods to himself.

Shadow: That sounds...reasonable. I can contact Rouge to talk to Tails and Blaze to see if they can help.

Shadow lifted his wrist up to his mouth and spoke into it. He turned around, free it finished ringing, and began talking to Rouge over the communicator. Meanwhile, Silver set the kid against the wall, pulled out a tablet and examined the brown hedgehog. Sonic loomed over him while Silver tended to what he could.

Silver: Severe wounds, malnutrition, some broken bones... He needs serious medical attention when we leave.

Sonic: Like expensively serious or non-expensively serious.

Silver: ......

Sonic: Stupid question. Got it.

Five minutes pass, Shadow walks up to the other two hedgehogs after talking with Rouge. Sonic looked up with a smile when he noticed the black hedgehog, but Silver continued to address the kid, still passed out possibly from exhaustion. The grey hedgehog mumbled to himself as the blue and black hedgehogs have a short convo.

Sonic: So? What's up?

Shadow: Rouge agreed and will get back with me after she talks with the others.

Sonic: Great! So now all we have to do is. Get out of here..

Sonic scratched his head while looking around for an opening but had no luck. Shadow questioned Sonic with own look then scoffed. Silver turned to them then back to the brown hedgehog and groaned. They better not start fighting again. I swear Gaia I will through them at a wall, thought Silver.

Sonic: Do you think I can spin dash into the ceiling since we fell in here?

Shadow: Highly doubt it--

Sonic: Wow, Shadow. Sooooo helpful.

Shadow: Let me finish, hedgehog! I highly doubt that you could do that...by yourself.

Sonic ears perked up and towards Shadow. He wanted to smile and tease Shadow, but he wanted to get out of the underground lab. Just like the other two did. Especially since they now have a kid, who needs help, with them. Silver stood up.

Silver: Alright, lets do this.

Sonic: Do what?

Shadow: Remember when we all agreed to work on new moves together?

Sonic: Yep--

Silver: And you never came?

Sonic: Oh...

Shadow: Just follow our lead, hedgehog!

Shadow began to spin in place as Silver picked him up with his powers. Sonic, a little unsure, began spinning soon after then Silver picked him up as well. He picked a spot on the ceiling and aimed for it, throwing both the black and blue hedgehogs, and holding them there for a bit. The grey hedgehog brought them back down and let them go. Sonic and Shadow stop spinning and looked at the scratched spot.

Sonic: What?! Not even a dent?!

Shadow: How is that possible?!

Sonic: How are we supposed to get out of here now?! Go back the way through the possibly locked trap door?!

Silver: Why can't we just find another way?

Sonic: The kid! That's way!

Shadow: Sonic! Calm down. Silver, we don't know how much time we have with the kid before...We need to get out quick.

Death still a sensitive topic to Shadow. Even after the these years? Sonic thought. Well me almost dying while in front of him like...probably doesn't help. Does it? As the hedgehogs were discussing how to escape, the kid started shuffling and groaning in pain.
Silver was the first to notice and immediately tend to the boy.

Silver: Hey, hey! Don't make too much.

???: Th-there's...Back...Ow ow ow.

Silver: Stop moving. It's alright.

Shadow: What are you trying to say.

???: Ladder...

The three hedgehogs looked to each other in shock. A stairway out, all this time!
