Chapter 7: Ruth

Ben walked me to my room.

"This is me stop then." I said turning back to face Ben who was smiling and had a pink tint on his cheeks.

"I cannae believe there's just a week tae go till the midterm break!" I said pulling my hair tie out of my hair letting it down casually.

I normally put my hair up but I let it down to warm up my neck.

Bens face twitched went from pink to red.

"Y-yeah time fly's by when you are with a cute- I mean Friends. A-are you going home for the b-break?" he stuttered adorably, his gaze drifting from me to the wall next to me.

My smiled faded slightly.

"Nah, I cannae make it tae Scotland for the break cause it's only for five days. But Jawon's parents are comin' up fae Florida, so me and Jaewon are fixin' up the flat for them. "I explained.

"Oh really? My mom and Papa are coming over to Tim and my apartment too." Ben said excitedly.

" Good on ye! I gonnae head inside an get started on dinner. Dae you and Tim want tae join us?" I asked hoping he would agree.

"Umm, I can come and I'll ask Tim." Ben said taken aback by my invitation.

"Great! Come at 9:00." I spoke.

Ben smiled and it made my heart raced and I could feel my face heating up. He nodded and walked to his door.

When he got to it, he turned back, waved and heading in to his flat closing the door as he did so.

I sighed and headed into my flat where Jaewon was standing by the door with a grin on her face. I could tell she was eavesdropping and I gave her a look of glee.

A few seconds later we burst into fits of laughter.

"What are we making for dinner?" Jaewon asked after we had calmed down.

"Aye, I wis thinkin' maybe a sausage gravy an' a biscuit pie? "I said placing me hand on the side of my left cheek.

"I have no idea what that is... but it sounds good!" Jaewon said eagerly.

I smiled and started cooking.

30 minutes later

I was nearly finished getting everything ready. Jaewon wanted to handle dessert so she got started on a mango bingsoo.

After rushing to get everything ready we finally sat on the couch. And let me tell you we were absolutely drained.

"I am exhausted." Jaewon said after she plopped onto the couch next to me.

"Me too." I sighed.

"Now all we have to do is wait for ben and......"

*Ding Dong*

Jaewon practically ran to the door. I was right behind her putting my hair up as I did so.

"Howdy, partners! "Tim said raising the Tupperware he had in his hands.

I smiled and said hello to Tim and Ben.

"Come in." Jaewon said while gesturing them to come in.

"We sure appreciate y'all havin' us over. "Tim said politely.

"Ye're welcome any time." I said closing the door behind us.

Ben smiled at me and it made my heart race.

We all sat at the table and got ready to eat.

"I'll say grace." Jaewon said.

We held hands and Jaewon begun.
