My mind was a world wind of thoughts. I didn't know to be scared, nervous, frightened, terrified, sad, or something else. This whole day seems like a dream. First the school thing, then the walk home, then the bathroom, and now a complete stranger has appeared in my room and im not entirely certain he's human. I mean I have had certain instances where i would go nights without sleeping due to the fact that i thought someone was watching me, but i just thought it was because i was weird. I've just never really thought about the possibility of others beings roaming the earth with us. Ones that could overpower us like the supernatural shows talk about on TV. How sooner or later another race will take over and we will be just a faded memory along with dinosaurs and god knows what else.
"Say something," he demanded as he shook my shoulders, knocking me from my daze. I had to avert my eyes from his black orbs that had a mesmerizing affect to them. You wanted to look away but you couldn't, they lured you in and kept you held there trapping you. But when you look away relief flushed over you and you feel free and alive again. I could feel him looking at me as i stared down at the floor trying to figure out what to say.
"Why are you even here?" i croaked still not meeting his eyes, "I don't even know you."
He laughed above me, "Yeah but I know you," he cooed and i looked up. He had pushed his hair back in front of his eyes and it made it easier to look at him, "And I'm here for you, love."
I quirked an eyebrow at his remark, "So let me get this right," he crossed his arms giving me a sideways smile, "you're here for me but i don't know you? But it gets better because you know me and to top everything off you aren't human. Am i leaving anything out," i questioned mirroring his stance by crossing my arms.
"Yeah but only one minor thing," he informed me.
"Oh and what would that be?" i coaxed.
"You're in a weird way my sort of...mate but we call it a match," he beamed with a smirk so wide it touched his eyes.
I uncrossed my arms showing that the situation was more serious then funny, "What?"
He unfolded his hands fixing the beanie a top his head. I only just realized he was wearing it. It was a red beanie with streaks of black throughout it. It looked good on him, I mean what wouldn't?
"This morning in school. You saw me didn't you. You felt the pain i inflicted upon you right?"
"That was you?! What the-," he cut me off.
"Answer my question," he demanded with force behind his words. I could tell he didn't have much patience and i had already experienced some of what he could do so i wasn't going to test it.
"Yes I did," I hissed back at him making sure he knew i was pissed.
"And you're still alive am i correct?"
"No shit," i snapped back admitting to the obvious.
He seemed to just brush off my comment, "That's why we are mate essentially. The only person who could endure the pain i admitted onto you is my mate, anyone else would have died. As mates it's my job to protect you and with that I am incapable of killing you. I knew you were my mate the first time I saw you last year when you went to the store looking for a new board. I was in the back fixing some when I saw you. I could feel it in my heart and I knew I had to find you again."
I took his words in slowly, "Wait a minute. What if i wasn't you mate?"
"Then you would have died," he muttered dryly.
"I don't believe you. You're crazy. Insane. Like I'm talking mental asylum, pills, some high dosage needles and some guards at the door, insane."
"I'm not crazy. I mean i am but only for you. And I'm not crazy I'm just...different."
