"So what did you do while i was at work?" my mother asked as we sat at the dinner table. She had cooked chicken with sweet corn on the side. It was the first time in a while that i can remember enjoying eating with her. The food somehow tasted good for once and everything seemed happy.
"Not a lot. How was work?" i bubbled as i took a bite of the chicken. I slowly ran a hand through my hair out of habit and waited for her to answer.
She put the fork with chicken on it in her mouth and pulled it out slower then necessary, "The usual. Now you want to tell me why when i went into your room before i saw a skateboard," she accused and i stopped chewing my corn. I starred down at my food thinking of what to say. Why did she have to ruin the good mood? My food seemed to trudge down my throat trying to bide me time. I looked up at my mother and saw her had her arms crossed and her eyebrows knotted together.
"Because that's how i get to school," i told her considering it was a pretty reasonable answer. It was also part of the reason i had it. I couldn't afford a car at 17 with the money i don't make and i didn't have the energy to walk half of Africa to get to school, a board seemed the best answer to my problems.
"You know i hate those THINGS Willow. Just get a bike or walk something other then that rolling rebellious contraption," she sneered at me and i knew this wasn't about the board.
"First that makes no sense mother. Second i hate bikes and you know that," when i was really young i had an incident on a bike and she knew about it and loved to throw it in my face as ammo, "and second i payed for that board. To think of it i payed for every single one you broke and threw out. So unless you want to pay for every single one of them i would shut up," i hissed and throw my chair back with a screeched. It took my plate and dropped it in the sink behind her. Her face said it all and i didn't need her to say anything to know i had won.
I stalked up the stairs leaving my mother to eat by herself. I made my way to my room closing the door and flopping down onto my bed not really feeling all to energized. I closed my eyes and not only two seconds after did i feel a presence enter my room. I slowly opened one eye to see Harry leaning against the corner directly across from where i was laying just...looking at me. he had left my room before dinner ad now here he was again just sitting there. H had pushed his hair back and it made it so i could see his eyes fully, they were black again.
"Yes?" i asked with a smile as i watched him carefully.
"Nothing just admiring the view," he spoke without hesitating. He smiled at his own words making me blush slightly, "I uh, heard what happened with your mom downstairs."
"How could you hear that?" i questioned a little offended he listened in on my conversations.
"Its not like i meant to. It happens when one of you emotions overpowers the others. When it happens i hear and see all that you do," he revealed as he walked over to the bed and sat right at the edge.
"Oh yeah she uh, she's a handful as you can tell," i admitted and watched him take my hand and start to play with my fingers.
"She is but it's nice to know you can hold your own," i chuckled with him and he started kissing my knuckled as i sat up. We both rested our backs on my head board and he took my hand again continuing with his previous actions. Everywhere he kissed heat would surge through like an electrical current being brought to life.
"Wait Harry i have a question, two actually," he hummed against my skin in response and continued his actions, "Where do you live exactly?"
"I live across the park. I have an apartment there on the third floor. It's...cozy," he mumbled, "what's you other question?"
