Prologue (Part 2)

Throughout the rest of the summer, Carly and Ricky hung out constantly. Not that that was anything unusual, they did that anyways. Red also hung out with them when he could but he had a job at his family's restaurant, Slices, so he had less free time. During this time Carly would help Ricky gather his thoughts about the whole Nini situation and give him advice and any other tidbits of information she had on certain things. As well as just being there for him in whatever way he needed.

One night Carly revealed that she wrote a song for Ricky as a way to help him with everything he was going through. She said that the song was about a way to show him that she was always going to be there for him but also a way to help get out of his head and to try and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

That same night, they were hanging out in Carly's room but once she revealed that she wrote a song for him, he immediately wanted to hear it. So Carly grabs Ricky's hand, forcing him up, and drags him to her music room.

Ricky asks her, "What are we doing in here?" To which Carly responds with, "Well you wanted to hear the song. So I brought you in here because this is where I have everything setup and recorded. I recorded the piano part in advance, knowing that you would wanna hear the song. Plus I did it so you would focus on me and the words rather than paying attention to me playing the piano and missing the point of the song. So let me just set up the recording and then I want you to really listen and pay attention to the words I'm singing. I hope this song will help you figure out some things and help you regain some of the spark you have lost recently. You're the first person who has heard this song so I hope you like it."

With that she went over to the computer near the recording booth and pulled up the instrumental for her song Wake Up. (pretend that Carly wrote this song. When it's actually from Julie and the Phantoms. But just pretend Carly wrote it for and about Ricky.) She then walked back over to Ricky and sat in a stool that she set up ahead of time, about a foot or so in front of where Ricky is sitting on the couch.

Ricky listens to the piano intro before looking up at Carly as she starts to sing.
