Daryl Dixon
I forced my eyes to open, seeing bright sun and leaves of trees above me, my vision blurry. I'm wet, dirty and in pain. My side hurt, really much, my head hurt too, hell my whole body hurt. When my vision came to focus I could see the face of a man hovering above me.
"Why don't you pull that arrow out, dummy? You could bind your wound better." A gruff voice with a hint of cockiness in it sounded painfully familiar.
"Merle." I mutter through the pain, as a small smile pulled up on my lips. I missed that bastard.
"What's goin' on here? You taking siesta or somethin'?" Merle continued as he looked down at me.
"A shitty day, bro." I mumble weakly.
"Like me to getcha pillow? Maybe rub your feet?" Merle mocked scoffing.
"Screw you." My eyes falling closed and then opening again as I struggled to keep my consciousness.
"Na-ah. You're the one screwed from the looks of it. All 'em years I spent tryin' to make a man of you, this is what I get? Look at you. Lyin' in the dirt like a used rubber. You're gonna die out here, little brother. And for what?" Merle continued talking.
"Girl. They lost a little girl." I mumble, licking my lips and swallowing trying to get myself together.
"So you got a thing for little girls now?" Merle mocked.
"Shut up." I whispered as my voice got weaker. I can't keep it up. It all hurts and I lost a lot of blood so I'm lightheaded.
"'Cause I noticed you ain't out looking for old Merle no more."
"Tried like hell to find you, bro."
"Like hell you did. You split, man. Lit out first chance you got."
"You lit out. All you had to do was wait. We went back for you. Rick and I, mhm, we did right by ya." I mutter, my eyes pulling closed and I force them to open again.
"This the same Rick that cuffed me to the rooftop in the first place? Forced me to cut off my own hand. This him we talkin' about here? You his bitch now?"
My eyes fell to Merle's right hand as he talked. My vision focused for a moment and I could see that the hand that shouldn't be there was there, Merle cut it off, it was the first clue that it was all my mind playing games with me and not really Merle being her with me.
"I ain't nobody's bitch." I hiss.
"You're a joke, that's what you are. Playing errand boy to a bunch of pansy-asses, niggers and democrats. You're nothing but a freak to them. Redneck trash. That's all you are. They're laughing at ya behind your back. You know that, don't you? I got little news for you, son. One of those days they gonna scrape you off their heels like you was dogshit." Merle talked as I started drifting off into a slumber again as Merle hit my chest a little forcing me to stay conscious. "Hey, they ain't your kin, your blood. Hell, you had any damn nuts in that sack of yours, you'd go back there and shoot your pal Rick in the face for me."
"Can't." I mutter.
"Oh and why's so, huh? Don't get enough balls, do ya little brother?" Merle mocked.
"Just can't. My..." I swallow my words. "Sam. His son. Can't kill his damn dad."
"So you Rick's son's bitch now, huh?"
"I ain't nobody's bitch." I hissed again.
"You think they care 'bout you? They ain't. Now you listen to me." He grabbed my face. "Ain't nobody gonna care 'bout you except me, little brother. Ain't nobody ever will. Now get up on your feet before I have to kick your teeth in." Merle stood up and started pulling my legs.
