A month had passed since Levi's death, and since then the only thing she focused on was revenge. The house was trashed and had evidence of death in it, so oreo found a temporary apartment to stay in. She didn't care if she was out on the streets or not, the only thing she did was fight. Wake up, get ready, fight, train, sleep- if she could. Ever since that night Oreo barely slept. It was getting to a point where even Cap'n Cuttlefish was concerned- and Agent 1 & 2, but she didn't care. The new hatred for Octolings boiled inside her, ready to explode. She was ready for anything.

"Hey, 3...You've been doing a lot of work today, why not take a break?" Agent 1 asks.

"I'm fine, thank you for the offer. Actually, are there any missions I need to go on? I heard talk from you and 2 yesterday." Oreo replies.

"Well...there is one, but don't you need a break-"

"No thank you. So, what do I need to do?"

"Well..."

Agent 1 explains one mission in particular that was brought up the day before. There was an Inkling reported to have gotten lost and found themselves in Octoling territory known to be very dangerous. Oreo's job was to locate the inkling, bring them back to their home and take down the Octolings. The only question in her head was:

"How could an Inkling get lost all the way here?"

<Time skip, author cannot write properly>

Splatting Octarians as she went along, Oreo found herself chasing down this Inkling who seemed to be running further and further into danger. It felt like a wild goose chase, definitely some kind of mission Oreo had not experienced yet.
The chase came to a sudden stop in an open area filled with trees. The Inkling was right in front of her, facing the opposite way. She noticed five respawn points dotted around the place, then she realised. This wasn't a lost Inkling...

It was a trap.

The supposed Inkling turned around to face Oreo and revealed themself as an Elite Octoling. Following this, five other Octolings emerged from the respawn points, ready to fight. Oreo was caught. She couldn't run away here, she had to fight back. She wasn't some weakling. Without hesitation, Oreo raised her weapon up in the air and began to fight.

The same Octolings who she fought against kept respawning and fighting back, not giving Oreo any time to think properly. It had been thirty minutes since this whole ordeal started and she was beginning to get tired. She scolded herself in her head saying things like "Come on, Oreo! You can't be tired, your Agent 3!" Or "Get your head in the game, these are just normal enemies you've fought before".

The longer this went on, the more aggressive the Octolings became and the more tired Oreo got. The elite Octoling got ready to shoot at her.

Oreo attempted to dodge but failed and was hit by the Octoling.
Falling to the floor, she clutched her arm, where she was hit. It almost felt like it was burning.

This was not normal enemy ink.

She attempted to stand up, only to be kept on the floor by the Octolings foot pushing down on her chest. It spoke in a language Oreo couldn't understand, mocking her. Oreo moved her arm up to shoot but her Hero Shot was knocked out of her hand, out of reach. There was nowhere to go, nowhere to run, not like this. For the first time since her brother, she felt genuine fear. There was no respawn for her nearby. You can guess where her head was going from there.

The Elite Octoling placed their Octo Shot under Oreo's lower beak and pulled the trigger.

To make it clear, most of the bottom half of her face was shot off.

The Octolings around her walked off, leaving her for dead. It's what's best for her, anyway.
