[ Morganton ]

As soon as I got home, I noticed that the dining area of our huge modernised house was well arranged, and it looked like a formal dinner would happen.

"Mum, what's going on?" I kissed her cheek and dropped my bag on the sofa.

"Your father invited some people to eat dinner with us. You know him, right? He's that friendly." My mum kissed my cheek in return and smiled widely. "Go, prepare, and make yourself presentable because you're meeting them also."

I gave her a small smile before picking up my bag and walking away. But when I got in my room, I didn't get ready yet; instead, I opened my phone to send text messages to my friends.

Morgan: guess what

Caius: wut

Maure: ❓❓❓

Giovanna: what?

June: WHAT GIRL

Morgan: she's my professor wtf

Caius: who?

June: OMG NO WAY

Morgan: adeline alvarez, the hot professor you just told us about, june

Maure: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA WHAT THE FOWCK

Gio: seriously? god, keep your pet down, morgan

I chuckled and turned off my phone. I want to get closer with her; that's the only goal. So, I must excel in her class. That's what she requested for me to do.

I immediately brought myself to go back to the dining area after getting ready. I was just wearing my casual clothes—nothing to be extra about. My hair was tied up, and I was wearing my specs.

"The great father of Alvarez!" I heard my father's voice greeting someone while I was already sitting down in the dining room.

Alvarez?

"How are you, Mr. Lewis?" I heard a man's voice.

"I'm doing so well, come in!" After I heard my father say that, they were coming in the dining room.

It was Adeline.

Her eyes suddenly caught mine. My heart was beating so fast. What the hell is she doing here?

"Good evening, Mrs. Lewis, and to you, too, Morgan." The man besides her greeted me. "This is my daughter, Adeline. She's teaching in literature; I heard you took the degree, Morgan."

"Yes, sir. She's my... professor." I answered with a smile plastered on my face. I even felt that she still had her eyes on me.
