[ Morganton ]

We made out romantically in the car for half an hour. After that, I decided to just be the one who's going to drive. She looked so tired after all of that crying.

"You would really date Denise?" she asked, her eyes already shut.

"I was just trying to get your reactions." I chuckled, seeing how adorable she was. "Would you be mad if?"

"Yes, but look, I will still look nice if you date someone else."

"I want to date you," I straightforwardly answered, which made her stay silent. "If it's not you, it's not anyone, Adeline."

"You will eat up your words soon once you realise the reality, Morgan." Her smile was sad.

"The reality?"

"Let's not talk about it, shall we?" She avoided the question. "I want to spend time with you this way. I'm trying to run away from my meant-to-be so-called future."

"Okay," I sighed a little with a nod and continued driving. She decided to just sleep the whole ride.

When we finally reached my father's building condominium, I literally carried her in the bridal style way. And that woke her up when we were already inside her place.

"You're so strong, do you go to the gym?" She chuckled after I did put her down on the sofa. I walked to go to the kitchen and got water for her.

"No, I was athletic." I gave her a small smile and offered her the glass of water, which she immediately took.

"I used to go to the gym. But now, all I do is jog if I have free time," she answered after drinking the water.

"I don't have anyone with me when I jog. I barely associate myself with best friends and such," she continued.

"And why's that?"

"I am grounded with work and at home... I mean, I do have friends, but as you grow older, everything goes busy in your life and others's, you know?" She was smiling. Then, she gestured that I should sit down besides her, so I did.

"Let's jog tomorrow?" Our faces were inches away, and that angle looked so cute. So, it made me smile.

"Really? You would do that for me?" Her smile brightened.

"Yes." I nodded in return. "I would do anything for-" before I could continue, she hugged me too tight, and we were chuckling.

That was one of our soft moments, and it looked lovely.

After that, we did our nighttime routine together. And we ended up lying down in the same bed, getting ready for a nap.

I was scrolling through an online shop while she was hugging me. We were covered in thick blankets and had our long cuddles.

"You smell really good," she uttered, smiling. I turned off my phone and gave her the attention that she wanted.

"I bet you kissed countless girls while I was away." She chuckled, stifling her smile.

"I thought I'm going to forget you in those times. But you always pop in my mind, Adeline." I smiled back.

"I wish you were them." My voice sounded so soft. I think it was the softest tone she has ever heard from me.

"You better stop that behaviour. You're hurting people's feelings." She sounded so serious already.

"Yes, ma'am. I won't do it ever again." I even made a salute gesture, which made her smile again.

After small and cute talks, we fell asleep, cuddling. It was one of the best nights I've ever had. The pain I felt for days was worth it.

Just to be with her this way, I could never ask for more.

The next day, she woke me up, all excited. She even cooked breakfast for me. And I get to see her wife's material side.

"Do you like my carbonara?" She smiled cutely, staring at my face after I ate a spoonful.

"The best Carbonara I've ever had, my love." My smile widened, and so hers did, too. "God, this is delicious. You should cook more of these, and I will bring some for my friends." She was so glad to hear that from me.

When we finished eating, we were both in the kitchen, cleaning stuff. And we were even arguing about who was going to wash the dishes.

"You cooked; I will wash these, okay?" I cornered myself close to the sink, but she was insisting even more.

"No, you stay there." She rolled her eyes, but her voice remained calm.

She wasn't letting me win, so I did let her wash them. While she was washing, I was feeling bored, so I stood up behind her and gave her a warm back hug.

She froze a little, and I felt her smile growing wider. Then, I kissed her cheek smoothly multiple times.

"You're so annoying," she uttered, trying to cover up her blushing cheeks.

"Am I?" I chuckled. "I missed you, really."

She turned around to face me. So, I had both of my hands on her sides. Our bodies were touching because of how close we were to each other. She then wrapped her arms around my neck carefully before answering.

"I missed you, and I know I look like a hypocrite." She chuckled, smiling playfully. "But... This time, I won't deny my feelings for you."

"Promise?" I sounded like a kid when I asked that.

"I will prove it, not just a promise." She gave me a peck on my lips before she attempted to walk away. Attempted, yes, because I pulled her back for a deep kiss, and we were smiling between it.

The day passed fast; we were just playing random video games and watching movies together for the whole day. And in the evening, we decided to do what she wanted-the jogging.

"Can we eat dinner outside?" She asked while brushing her hair.

"We can do anything you want." I smiled and stole a kiss from her. She then chased me playfully throughout the room to get a kiss from me, too.

It was totally adorable.

A few minutes passed; we were both in the outdoors already, and we started jogging. I wasn't really used to this because it's been so long since I did volleyball training. So, I was busy staring at her instead.

She was an expert, and her body was moving smoothly. She looked so beautiful to the point that I couldn't take my eyes off her.

"Stop staring at me, and join me here." She saw how slow I was, and she even had that playful smile plastered on her face.

"Oh, come on, you're fucking gorgeous." I chuckled and catched up.

We did it until we reached a place where there was a small river and there was an overlooking of the bright buildings. We stood there, staring at the view. Even the moon and stars above us looked so clear.

"Let me take a picture of you." She smiled, taking out her phone.

"Baby-"

"Come on! Don't be shy!" She forced me, making me stand in the place where she wanted me to be. I had no choice and just smiled for her.

"Why would you pose like that?" She chuckled, making fun of my picture

"Why would you pose like that?" She chuckled, making fun of my picture.

"Hmp!" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Kidding aside, you're adorable, Morganton Lewis." She pinched my cheek with a wide smile on her face.

She looked so happy.

I wanted to see her that way for the rest of my life.

After jogging, we did look for a restaurant where we could eat. And she told me that we should go try eating at a fast-food restaurant instead of fancy ones, which was a really good idea.

While we were waiting for our order, I was texting with my friends through our group message.

Maure: where y'all at?

Caius: in your place

June: EXPOSED 😭

Maure: stfu

June: I'm studying here in my condo

Giovanna: i'm with sab :))

Morganton: i'm eating dinner with prof ade... oh, no, my future girlfriend ;)

Maure: WHAT DID I MISS

June: HUH???? Y'ALL BACK TOGETHER????

Caius: did you have sex with her and everything's okay already?

Giovanna: stop, cai 😭 congratulations, smart head!

I was laughing while texting with them, which made Adeline curious about who I was texting with.

"It's my friends, baby." I smiled a little and closed my phone.

"Mhm, are they Maure, Caius, June, and Giovanna?"

"Wow, you know all of them?" I was really surprised; she even looked so proud of herself.

"Because I'm interested in you, that's why I explored your social life as well." She unhesitatingly said that.

"You really know how to get my soul effortlessly. Just by saying that you're interested in me, it's... it's wholesome, Adeline."

"I've been always interested. I wouldn't go out with you if I'm not, okay?" She chuckled. The little gadget suddenly beeped, a sign that our meals were ready.

"I'll go get it; talk to your friends for awhile." She stood up with a smile on her face. I had no choice but to stop her because she had already walked away.

An hour passed, we finished eating dinner, and we were both already outside of the fast-food restaurant.

"It's classes again tomorrow." I sighed heavily.

"We have to act like a student and a professor again." She chuckled. "I wish I could go back to my college days in the same years with you, so I wouldn't have to hide what we have."

"A low-key relationship doesn't sound so bad, Professor Alvarez," I joked, smiling playfully.

"A low-key date with you doesn't sound so bad, right?" She asked, her voice sounded hopeful while she smiled genuinely.
