I've got to get away from here
And it couldn't be too soon
'cause I see the stars when you're with me
Like rockets to the moon
You take me everywhere that I've never been and
Show me the meaning of what life had to give and
I don't know what to say, I think that maybe
I'm in over my headPeter swore to himself as the Hurctarian walked away; he was now a hundred thousand units poorer, thanks to that refuelling deal. And he'd thought Ravagers were rough to make deals with, but these guys put even the worst Ravager to shame. The deal almost cost him more than he was making on this orb!
A billion units, he had to remind himself. That orb was worth a billion units to him personally, after the split. Even with a hundred thousand units gone, he was still richer than the entirety of the Ravagers.
Shaking his head, he turned back to the bar just in time to see Cass knock some Aakon asshole flat without spilling the drink in her hand. Just one fluid movement that had the guy out like a light on the ground. That sexy smirk of hers as she bent to divest him of his weapons went right through Peter. When she stood, he saw her holding a pair of black batons with small blades on the end. An electrical charge ran through the blades, giving them an eerie green look in the darkness of the Boot of Jemiah. Weapons in one hand, drink in the other.
He'd lost track of how many times he'd seen her kicking ass over the two days he'd known her, but it was still just as hot as the first time he'd seen it. Maybe one day he'd convince her to pin him to the ground.
Pushing aside that thought, he saw her walk out a door that seemed to lead outside. Off to the side, he noticed a frustrated Gamora talking to the bartender. And to his other side, Rocket, Drax, and Groot at one of the betting tables. Returning his gaze to where Cass had disappeared, he smiled.
Now was as good a time as any to try to get into Cass's pants again. Not like Gamora's buyer was anywhere to be seen.
Cass grinned as she found the right control on the batons to turn off the electricity, and hooked them through her belt before turning back to the view. Clouds of coloured gasses swirled in the distance, bright specks of starlight glittering throughout. Pinks and greens and purples and blues. Maybe that was why she never really felt at home on Earth or Xandar - she belonged amongst the stars.
