Chapter 05

Two weeks had already passed since we last talked, no… since he decided to cast me away, damang dama ko pa rin ang sakit sa mga sinabi n’ya. Totoo nga pala ang kasabihan na “Words hurt more than Physical” kasi kahit sina Mika ay nakahalata na rin sa mga biglaang pagbago ng kilos ko.

“Hindi mo man sabihin sa’kin kung ano ang problema mo ay gusto ko lang ipaalala sa’yo na nandito lang ako palagi”, sabi n’ya habang niyayakap ako.

“Thank you, Mika.”

“You’re welcome”, she patted my back.

I glanced at James side and saw him smiled, “I think I might know the reason kung bakit ka nagkakaganyan.”

“Just shut up James, we both know what’s the reason. Huwag na lang natin sabihin at baka umiyak naman ang bruhang ‘to.”

Umalis ako sa pagkakayakap mula kay Mika, “Tell me, what do you know?”

“Well,” nakita kong tumingin s’ya sa kay James bago bumaling ulit ng tingin sa’kin, “Alam namin na nag-away kayong dalawa.”

“Kanino n’yo nalaman?”

“It doesn’t matter kung kanino namin nalaman ang dahilan,” pagputol ni James sa kay Mika na gusto sanang sagutin ang aking tanong, “We’re just here to tell you that just cheer up, everyone has reasons.”

“Reasons?”, I laughed sarcastically, “Yes, he has reasons, and his reason was he’s not serious. He just done those things for fun, wala s’yang pakialam kung may masaktan man s’yang iba. What’s important to him is he can satisfy his self from others by hurting them.”

Narinig kong tumikhim si Mika mula sa’king tabi, “Tumahimik kana lang kasi.”

Umirap na lang ako at tumingin sa itaas.

‘Nasanay akong nasa tabi s’ya nakin palagi, how could I survive in these remaining years in my life without him by my side? Just try again Khem, back to square one. Be independent, you’re 18 now and you should be mature to take care of your own self. He proved to you that people come and go, at kung may aalis may darating.'

I know in these remaining years will not be easy pero kakayanin, it hurts because I thought walang magbabago kung aalis s’ya but I was wrong and the reason why everything changed was because of my own selfish confession. At first, I regretted what I did but, sooner I realized na mabuti rin na inamin ko ang nararamdaman ko sa kanya because finally, I can’t lie to myself anymore and nalaman ko rin ang totoo n’yang pagkatao.

It’s funny because in just one simplest thing you’ll discover many hidden secrets and lesson that a person can give to you, and I’m one of those people who experienced them. Love is cruel, it could destroy and hurt a person’s feelings and mentality. It takes time to heal the wound that was embedded in our heart but also it could leave a deep scar on it that’ll be hard to forget. Kaya kahit masakit ay kinaya ko, I must do the right thing and make the right decisions for myself.

“Khem,” tawag sa’kin ng aking professor.

“Yes ma’am?”

“May naghahanap sa’yo sa labas.”

‘May naghahanap sa’kin? Who could it be? Sino naman ang maghahanap sa’kin kung nandito naman si Mika at James sa tabi ko.’

I stopped when I realized who’s the person looking for me, ‘Wait, could it be?!’

Dali-dali akong lumabas sa classroom, nakita ko ang isang babae at lalaki na nakatayo sa hallway. The girl was wearing a black hoodie and a high waisted jean paired with a black boots while the man beside her carries their helmet in his arms and wears a black jean and a jacket.
