Jack lay on his bed, his body wrapped in bandages, his leg encased in a cast. The country’s most specialized doctor had just finished examining him. The injuries, he explained, had become worse because Jack had ignored the pain during his mission, causing deeper damage that required careful treatment.
Kevin stood beside the bed, his concern evident as he discussed Jack's condition and the need for ongoing specialized care. His voice wavered with worry, reflecting the seriousness of the situation.
Ted quietly entered the room, carrying a blanket. He gently wrapped it around Jack and took a seat beside him. “I’m sorry for blaming you earlier,” Ted said softly, his voice cracking. “I didn’t realize how much you were suffering.”
Exhausted and weak, Jack managed a faint smile. He reached out and kissed Ted’s forehead, a gesture of forgiveness despite his own pain. Kevin watched, his frustration momentarily set aside as he saw the comfort Ted’s presence brought to Jack. He decided to let Ted stay, recognizing that Jack needed this emotional support.
Rimmy entered with a bowl of vegetable soup. Jack’s initial reaction was to refuse, shaking his head. “I’m not hungry,” he said weakly.
Kevin, however, was insistent. He took the bowl from Rimmy and sat next to Jack, his tone gentle yet firm. “You need to eat, Jack. You’re too weak to refuse. This is important for your recovery.”
With little energy to argue, Jack allowed Kevin to feed him the soup. Each spoonful was a struggle, but Kevin’s persistence ensured Jack received the nourishment he needed. The simple act of eating became a crucial part of Jack’s path to recovery.
As the day wore on, the room was filled with a mixture of tension and care. Jack’s injuries were severe, but with the support of his family and the specialized care he was receiving, there was hope for his healing. For now, Jack focused on the comfort of those around him and the gradual steps towards getting better, one spoonful of soup at a time.

Zeo’s day had been exhausting, but nothing prepared her for the sight that greeted her as she entered Mayumi’s room. The door was slightly ajar, and as she pushed it open, her heart dropped. Mayumi lay collapsed on the floor, her face pale and her breathing shallow.
“Mayumi!” Zeo’s voice was filled with panic as she rushed to her daughter’s side. She knelt beside her, her hands trembling as she checked for a pulse—faint but still there. Desperate, she grabbed her phone, her fingers fumbling as she dialed for an ambulance. “My daughter has fainted. Please, I need help immediately!”
The paramedics arrived swiftly, assessing Mayumi’s condition with practiced efficiency. Zeo stood by, her hands clenched into fists as she watched them load Mayumi onto a stretcher. Her husband, Joseph, arrived moments later, his face pale and eyes wide with concern.
“What happened?” Joseph asked, his voice breaking.
“I don’t know,” Zeo replied, tears streaming down her face. “She just collapsed.”
The paramedics transported Mayumi to the hospital, with Zeo and Joseph following in their car, their worry deepening with every passing moment.
At the hospital, the waiting area was tense. Ren, who had been working late, arrived as soon as he could, joining Zeo and Joseph. His presence, though comforting, couldn’t alleviate their anxiety.
Dark, Zeo’s brother and a renowned surgeon, soon arrived. His calm demeanor was a small comfort. “I’ll take care of her,” Dark said, his tone serious yet reassuring.
Zeo clutched Dark’s arm, her eyes pleading. “Please, Dark. Do everything you can.”
Dark nodded solemnly before heading to the operating room. Zeo and Joseph, along with Ren, waited in the sterile, cold waiting area, their anxiety palpable. Time seemed to drag as they waited for any news.
