KATERINA MANAGED TO muster up a suit to wear into battle. The top was white with gold accents on it– to represent her abilities– and it was spaghetti-strapped and tied around her neck in the back. The pants were also white with golden accents and swirls going along them.
"No way we all get through this." Tony spoke to Bruce, Katerina, and Steve. "If even one tin soldier is left standing, we've lost. There's gonna be blood on the floor."
"I got no plans tomorrow night." Steve looked up at him.
"I thought—" Katerina paused. "Steve, movie night was tomorrow night!" she joked, playfully punching his shoulder.
"When we make it out of this, we can watch all the movies you'd like."
Tony cleared his throat. "I get first crack at the big guy. Iron Man's the one he's waiting for."
"That's true," The Vision—the red android—said as he walked past them. "He hates you the most."
Katerina let out a small laugh. "Oh, god."
"Ultron knows we're coming. Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire. And that's what we signed up for." Steve began his hero speech once everybody was loaded into the Quinjet. "But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out. All they want is to live their lives in peace. And that's not gonna happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done. We find out what Ultron's been building, we find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us. Ultron thinks we're monsters. That we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."
As soon as they were out, they got quick to trying to get civilians out of Sokovia. Katerina stuck by Steve for the time being and they were in the middle of the road, which was packed in traffic. Her father was off to find Ultron and Bruce was already getting Natasha.
Before Katerina realized, robot puppets of Ultron began climbing out of the ground, sending the civilians into a panic mode immediately. So much for calmly removing everybody.
"Go!" Steve screamed before one robot landed behind them on a car and began shooting. Steve protected himself with his shield and Katerina created a barrier made a barrier of yellow energy to protect herself. One came by her on her left and she shot it flying into millions of pieces with a burst of her energy.
They were coming from every which way that Katerina didn't even have time to think as she took them out. Her hands were repeatedly sending out bullets of golden-yellow, one after another, after another. She even helped Steve a few times to take some out when he was struggling. Her arms began to hurt as she was not used to all of this.
The bridge began splitting in half as Steve approached it and more and more kept surprising Katerina.
"Steve!" she yelled, gold flying out of her hands to pull him back. She was out of breath and feeling weak as she collapsed to the ground, crawling over to where Steve was.
