KATERINA AND THOR crashed suddenly onto what Katerina assumed was another planet. She was amazed that she hadn't died in the middle of space, or kept free-falling until she eventually did die. She was still holding tightly onto the god out of fear.

Thor groaned as he sat up, pulling Katerina a bit harshly with him. He stood up after a moment and pulled her up with him, more gently this time. It was then he realized that the girl he was holding onto was sobbing silently, taking shallow breaths. He pulled her into him, placing a hand on the back of her head.

"It's alright, love. Shh," he comforted her softly, stroking through her long hair.

Her breathing relaxed a bit and she was able to speak. "I'm scared, Thor."

"Don't be. I won't let anything happen to you. I'll get you home."

They stayed like that in silence until Thor finally felt Katerina's breathing go back to normal. They both let go of the hug and studied their surroundings. They were surrounded by tons and tons of trash and a murky body of water. Above them was a glowing red entrance of sorts—or it could've been something entirely different. It was hard to tell.

Katerina and Thor looked up at a noise coming from the sky only to see a large piece of trash hurdling down towards them.

Before Katerina could move herself, Thor's arms were around her, and for once, there was no burning or shocking from the two of them. It was just his arms around her torso, without that surge of power. He made it up on a little trash hill behind them. He let her go after a moment. He could still sense her fear.

"Why couldn't I feel your... sun rays this time?" Thor asked, looking at her with furrowed brows.

"My what?" she smiled slightly at him.

"Your powers," he replied. "They're like little sun rays."

"I don't have my powers" Katerina. looked down. "Well, I do. But, me and Stephen found out that the majority of my powers come from our Sun, back on Earth. As long as there's a star accompanying a planet, I'll always have a small bit of power, but not nearly as much as at home, because of the weird way my powers are connected to the Sun, or something. I never thought I'd ever have to worry about this problem, because I never expected to ever leave Earth. We studied a whole lot to learn about my powers and tested them. I finally got some answers that my mother never could."

"And you're completely human?"

"Yes, a human with weird powers. I work exactly how a human being works, and I'll die, just like a human, we think. Stephen thinks it might have been a mutation somewhere down the line in my family that caused this, or an external source that altered our DNA. He's still working on research for me but it's hard because my mother never knew her biological parents and we can't seem to find them. I'm the only one with these powers that he's ever seen. It doesn't really bother me so much to know about the origins of my powers, I'd just like to know how they work and how to protect myself. Also, how to keep them under control. Since they killed my mom, and all."
